Proposal: Fedora G11N Steering Committee

Hi All, I am sure, most of the people working with Fedora I18N, L10N from 5-6 year must be aware regarding Fedora L10N Steering Committee. [1] As far as i know this committee was active around 2009 and very effective. During Fedora G11N activity day discussions, we again felt there is need for some kind of official committee to drive Fedora Globalization activities. Fedora is growing faster with number of different domains and G11N also need to adapt those changes quickly to remain on the track. For this purpose and in line with [1], we were thinking of Fedora Globalization steering committee. I have created initial proposal for it. [2] Its open for feedback, please feel free to share other active members, discuss in your respective language groups. This is just initial proposal and i am sure, we can improve and make it more effective with active participation. Next Fedora L10N meeting is Monday

Documentation's internationalization

Hi, (please answer to docs mailing list) with future arrival of Weblate server for live testing, I want to continue the work we started long ago, and to work on making production deployment ready. While bringing localization support already is a great progress of our users, my plan is to use this project to allow us to test Weblate. Here are our tasks: https://teams.fedoraproject.org/project/translation-platform-migration/epic… #12 Autodetect new languages in site generation #13 Warn admin on missing l10n repositories #14 How do we deal with images? #15 User language autodetection #16 Fix homepage link issue for localized content #17 Admin documentation #18 i18n support in HTML #19 RTL support I think tasks #12 and #13 are ready for Adam's action. Tasks #14 and #15 are server side redirection. I assume website and infra team can help. Tasks #16, #18 requires a little bit of Antora knowledge. Tasks #19 may be easy to quick fix for any contributor. But challenging to properly cover with Antora generation? To me, tasks #12 to #16 are important tasks for production deployment. Translation platform budget is granted

Dear translation teams, Council ticket #268 "Long term funding request: translation platform hosting" was closed as approved! This means we have a budget, and can now really work on the migration plan. We now need to meet and identify together tasks. What was voted and agreed is: 1) @jibecfed <https://pagure.io/user/jibecfed> should begin a cross-project discussion about Weblate; 2) 6000 EUR is allocated to be spent assuming the cross-project conversation goes well. Fedora 31 Beta Release Readiness meeting
