Network problems on new FC4 box - please help.

I had to replace a disk (the one with all of the home directories on
it) on an FC3 box, and so I bought a new drive (particulars
unimportant).
To make a long story short, I decided to put FC4 on this box, and so I
installed the new drive and put the root filesystem on it. I still
have the old FC3 root drive and can boot to either for comparison...
Under FC3, I have no network problems that I can detect; however, under
FC4 there are two distinct (related? no idea) problems which have
eluded me. I have tried looking up both of these in the archives, but
have had no luck (some similar issues, but nothing exactly like either
of these unless I missed them).
Problem 1: network card goes to sleep.
This machine has 2 network cards, both on-board. The 1GB card L(Intel
82540EM) goes to the smartswitch to tolk to the local network, and does
not show any problems.
The other card (nVidia nForce2) is a 100MB card and talks to the DSL
modem. Periodically I cannot connect to the internet at all - or even
ping the DSL modem. This happens irregularly but about 5-10 times/day.
If I reboot back to FC3, the problem does not occur. Network
configurations between the two (FC3/FC4) are as identical as I can make
them. The first few times the problem occurs, sometimes retarting
networking works, but eventually a full sys reboot is the only thing
which works.
Problem 2: slow local network.
Under FC3 throughput on the LOCAL network (1GB lan) is very fast.
Under FC4, the best I have seen is ONE transfer of about 1.2 MB/s - and
throughput drops to as low as 50-75KB/s at times. Again, this does not
occur under FC3 but does under FC4. Again the same setup as nearly as
I can make it. No workaround found so far.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

latest selinux policy update errors

Is anyone else seeing these types of failures with the latest selinux
updates?

Fedora version supporting Poulsbo

F11 XKB troubles

One one machine, I keep getting half a dozen popups that all
say :
Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
- a bug in libxklavier library
- a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities)
- X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation

If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
- The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
- The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
It doesn't say *where* to send a bug report. So I ran those
commands, and got :

None of that means anything to me.
I tried yum remove xkb, meaning to follow it with yum install
xkb, but yum didn't find it.
I tried googling, and I tried yum whatprovides. That got me to /
usr/share/X11/xkb -- but everything in the readmes is Geek to me.
When I was working, all of us in my section had lots of what we
then called macros such as type Ctrl-b, and the machine would put
"Includes bibliographical references" into the proper field. What little
I can follow seems to say that such tricks are what XKB does; but I don't
use them now, and haven't since I retired.
Should I just remove XKB? If so, how? If not that, what?

F-11; hp-setup not seeing any officejet product

new install of Fedora 11. Install hplip-gui and all its's dependencies.
Running hp-setup (as root). The utility doesn't find network or usb attached officejet. What's up? I can see the device via /proc/bus/usb/devices

Domain of sender address ... does not resolve

I just did a new FC9 (fully updated) install, and it regularly rejects outgoing
mail with the subject error message. The address does resolve, of course, so I'm
not sure what it means instead of what it says.
The nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf are the authoritative DNS for the domain,
both are up, etc.
Someone have a clue?

two F11 issues

Hi everyone!
F11 live cd, booting from USB on a eeepc 901 (20 gig model).
boots fine, pretty much everything works fine.
But...
1) sound volume is so low as to be nearly inaudible. I've cranked up every
mixer/volume control I can find, including alsamixer. I know that in F10,
doing that worked--every new kernel on f10 would reset alsamixer to 50%,
and I'd have to go reset it. But F11 seems to be different. Clues pls?
2) printing anything to my Brother HL2070N laser printer prints only one
line of garbage at the bottom of the page, then nothing else. Or else the
job sits in the queue forever without printing. Varies a bit depending on
which printer drive I choose. Same results whether I use the RH printer
config tool, or whether I browse to localhost:631. ON F10 (and pretty much
every other system I've used) configuring the printer has been a piece of
cake, and it "just works". I choose HL2060 as the printer model and usually
the recommended driver. Which one is the recommended one varies a bit
depending on the version/age of Linux one is using, but they've always
worked. Not now. Advice appreciated.
I wouldn't THINK these would be artifacts of using the live-from-usb
method. I'm trying to test it out for a while before blowing away the
(mostly) working F10 installation.
