Gentle People:
Today March third was a total waste of my time!!! I attempted to down load and install your Fedora 28 release. Over the course of the day I was able to install the build, add the packages that i needed and update the software. After spending the day installing and configuring the software I attempted a reboot. Result the system booted up to a blank grey screen! No error messages no nothing.
Lets face the facts YOU HAVE A QUALITY PROBLEM!!! Fix it!
I have been able to successfully load and make use of CentOS, Debian, and Ubantu releases over the past 20 years with no problems! But I have had only intermittent success with Fedora versions after 14. You have a severe quality problem fix it.
A dedicated CentOS user.
Hi, Could you clarify which ISO you downloaded / where you downloaded fedora from?
Can you confirm that you installed and rebooted initially with no problem?
Any other information that might be helpful? Tried text mode boot etc?

dear sir,
i am sorry to hear of your frustrations. as a many decade fedora user, may i share a process that has never failed me. naturally, YMMV, but consider,...
first, the obligatory backup of you old env & /home/user.
boot from a <newosmedia>.{iso|dvd|network}, your choice wiping all pre-existing data!. set target drives to install as well as kbd, tz, default apps, finish install & reboot.
now install all desired apps, do a dns update, & reboot.
last, restore your /home/user, verify any /home/user/.hidden files from your personal stuff, reboot.
hth, good luck from new F28 user (working on openvpn, dns leak myself! ;)

May I humbly suggest that you have an attitude problem.
This list is for Fedora *users* who are interested in helping and supporting each other. You don't seem to be interested in either. Neither the users here, nor the developers at Red Hat, nor community contributors owe you anything. That's not how Free Software works.

I can assure all that mostly , when upgrading , so not updating , everything runs fine : Of course it is free software and a development environ : So specific problems can occure and have to be solved . This is named Open source community and needs an open mind . I guess that is what Gordon wanted to point out .
