Hi Ed ,
When running scanimage -L only the laptopcamera is discovered as scanning device (Dell Inspiron 3741). So the scanning function is missing .
Your explanation for the Bonjour software is clear : So I did following : I installed root-net-bonjour-6.14.04-1.fc29 , and root-6.16.10-3.fc29 ; both x86_64 . (Avahi etc.)
Then I did run hp-get < ipnumber > (All In Officejet HP4620 on WLAN.)
And praise the Lord ! Everyting functionates , running hp-check I get 2 warnings ( HP printer is not hplip installed and /.hplip/hplip.conf could not access file , no such file or directory ) and 1 error ( Cups packcage is missing or not running ).
So the scan problem is solved , but I still can not follow the logic : Maybe out there is someone who can explain.
I must thank all of you for help , Ed Greshko in particular for his patience .
Ger van Dijck .

Well, that makes no sense to me.
I have none of those packages installed on my system. If you do a "dnf info root" and "dnf info root-net-bonjour" it doesn't have (shouldn't have) any bearing on the issue.

Not hard, I have 4 cats and have learned a lot. :-) :-)
