Hi,
Fresh install of Fedora 36 XFCE SPIN.
I can walk away from my computer and come back after the screen blanks off and move my mouse and the lock screen will say:
"YOUR CAPSLOCK IS ON" on the screen locker..... But I never use the CL ( Caps Lock)
What could be randomly activating the caps lock when I move the mouse? Is it Fedora doing it?
The computer does not power down and go into standby. The tower is always running.
Dell Optiplex980.
Logitech wireless keyboard K520
Thanks, Chris

Dying batteries in the keyboard?

I dimly recall an "accessibility" feature that emulate caps lock if you pressed the shift key a "long time". (Maybe it wasn't caps lock but some other helpful feature.) Drove me crazy because I have a tendency to linger over the shift key while deciding how to start the next sentence, and sometimes I guess I didn't linger over it, but on it. I could type again once I discovered that feature and turned it off :-).

That sounds vaguely familiar. A lot of typists will do that, so not really a good choice.
Another trigger was pressing the shift key several times to turn on an accessibility feature (I don't recall if this was on Linux). Again, not a great idea. A lot of people will tap on the shift key to wake up a sleeping monitor, in the belief that as pressing the shift key by itself won't do anything, it's safe to tap it when you can't see the screen display. Ordinarily, that would be true.
Though, generally speaking, those accessibility features had to be turned on and in standby for them to respond to the trigger.

I want to say that I think I remember that feature on Windows.
You'd tap the shift key so many times and the tower would make a weird noise ( it sounded like a squeak) letting you know that feature had been activated.

This is getting wacky,
I just sat down at the computer after being away from it for a little bit and moved the mouse to be greeted by the YOUR CAPSLOCK IS ON message.
It's done this twice, randomly today.
Is there a way to disable the capslock key entirely?
going to APPLICATIONS > and then typing in Power Manager > and going to the DEVICES tab, it says my Keyboard has 70% battery life left
and the mouse has 55% ( Which I just replaced those batteries like a couple months ago) Dang... The mouse is sucking the batteries like no tomorrow!
So I just want to reply back and let you know I found a solution to my problem
Added a line to the " Session and start up > Application Auto start tab"
setxkbmap -option ctrl:nocaps
Run at: Log In
viola... No more caps lock turning on by itself.
