Hi all,
I've been asked to look at how HiDPI affects the AppStream
specification. Basically, the issue is that 64x64 rendered PNGs look
really small on a HiDPI screen, and just scaling them up make the
icons all fuzzy and the designers sad.
What about if I proposed a spec change to install the icons into
/usr/share/app-info/icons/fedora-21/64x64 rather than
/usr/share/app-info/icons/fedora-21/?
This would allow me to ship 128x128 (or, the more correct 64x64@2)
icons in the Fedora metadata for use on HiDPI screens. I don't think
*many* applications ship an icon larger than 64x64, but the ones that
do really care about things looking beautiful. Ideas welcome, thanks.
