Release status of the Fedora 27 Server Beta is NO-GO.
The next Go/No-Go meeting is planned on Thursday, October 19th. The
F27 Server Beta release slips for one week. A FESCo issue [1] has been
opened to determine whether the F27 Server Final GA slips as well or
whether there is going to be "Rain Date" feature accepted for the F27
Server Beta release and the Final GA remains as planned.
For more information please check the F27 Server Beta Go/No-Go meeting
minutes [2][3].

Greetings fellow Fedora friends!
bodhi-2.11.0[0] has been deployed to production, and this release
introduces a new state for updates where the request can be "batched".
The purpose of this state is to give updates a place to sit once they've
reached the stable requirements until the next weekly batch update push.
There is a cron that is set to run on Tuesday's at 03:00 UTC that will
switch all "request: batched" updates to "request: stable"
automatically, and they will then proceed the next time releng does a
push each week.
I know this was a bit controversial when discussed here in the past, so
take solace in this: you (the developer) can override this easily, by
either clicking "push to stable" or by using the CLI to request stable,
just like you do today. The new batched state is just a default state
for updates to go once they hit the karma threshold. In other words, if
you want your update to go out immediately, that's your decision.
Important updates that need to go out immediately (think: bad bug or
important security update) can set the severity to "urgent", which will
skip the batched state automatically.
Let me know if you want clarification about any of this, and happy hacking!

= Proposed Self Contained Change: Facter3 =
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Facter3
Change owner(s):
* James Hogarth <jhogarth(a)fedoraproject.org>
This is an update of the Facter package from 2.X to 3.X. It is a self
contained changed which will impact puppet directly and potentially
any other tools that make use of facter to gather information.
== Detailed Description ==
In the effort to remove the dependencies on the deprecated net-tools
package Facter needs to be updated past the 3.0+ release.
The version presently in Fedora is 2.4.3, with 2.5.1 upstream as the
most recent in the 2.X series. This is an update with breaking changes
as detailed upstream here:
https://docs.puppet.com/facter/3.0/release_notes.html
The most significant change though is a switch of language from ruby
to c++, with bindings for application like puppet to remain
compatible.
There is a COPR to carry out early testing here:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/jhogarth/facter3/
== Scope ==
* Proposal owners:
The following packages need to be reviewed as dependancies:
- boost-nowide
- leatherman
- cpp-hocon
The leatherman package is already under review, the other two I'll be
submitting for review in due course.
The only package showing a requirement on facter is puppet, that will
need a change of it's requires to use ruby-facter instead of facter.
The release notes will need to include this to notify anyone using
facter as a ruby library will need to change what package they
install.

Fedora 27 Beta Released
-----------------------
We're excited to announce the release of Fedora 27 Beta.
A short list of changes:
The Workstation edition of Fedora 27 Beta features GNOME 3.26.
LibreOffice is updated to LibreOffice 5.4.
Fedora Atomic 27 now defaults to a more simple container storage setup,
furthermore offer containerized Kubernetes, flannel and etcd.
We are also simultaneously releasing 64-bit F26 Beta for ARM (AArch64) and
Power (both little and big endian) architectures.
Fedora 27 Beta Server is intentionally delayed while we incorporate
additional modularity changes, and is planned for release in approximately
a month.
Also be aware that we are missing i686 (32-bit Intel architecture) images
for this release; this is due to a bug in image checksum creation and which
we will fix it by the final release. If you are interested in testing
Fedora 27 Beta on i686, wait for upcoming nightly images — or update from
Fedora 26.
For more details about the release, read the full announcement at
* https://fedoramagazine.org/fedora-27-beta-released
or look for the prerelease pages in the download sections at
* https://getfedora.org/
Since this is a Beta release, we expect that you may encounter bugs or
missing features. To report issues encountered during testing, contact the
Fedora QA team via the mailing list or in #fedora-qa on Freenode.
