HI all,
I have just done an editorial pass on the Electrum / Bitcoin article.
I am not really well versed in Bitcoins, so it was a little hard for me to add any extra explainations, but it seems that someone knows a little about bitcoin will be able to use this article to start using electrum.
One question that I did have was with this sentence:
""" Your bitcoins are lost if your hard drive dies and if you lose your 12 words. """
what is meant by "your 12 words"?
other than that, from a copy-editing perspective, this one is ready to go!

Just did some more editing of this article, notably removing a few of the additional sections at the bottom about bitcoin generally. To make up for this, i added a link to the awesome getting started with bitcoin section on bitcoin.org.
This means that this article is a little more foccused on getting started with electrum on Fedora, rather than a general bitcoin primer, as there are more comprehensive and detailed primers available on bitcoin.org.

Thanks for helping prep this article, Ryan! Your time is appreciated here. :) I see this one is scheduled for a couple more hours from now. If I'm still up, I'll try to remember to give it the social media treatment!

I agree with your changes, it makes it more easy how to get started.

Great, thanks!
what is meant by "your 12 words"?
It is the same as generation seed _______________________________________________ Fedora Magazine mailing list -- magazine@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to magazine-leave@lists.fedoraproject.org
Ryan, Jonny,
"12 words" != generation seed it is your paperkey much like how keybase uses them, in short its your last ditch account / wallet recovery step.
It is generally only ever used if you forget your password/phrase AND don't have another 2nd factor token / mechanism in place or if your are unfortunate enough to have that even be invalidated by some other stroke of misfortune.
Corey Sheldon:
Ryan, Jonny,
"12 words" != generation seed
My understanding is that all private/public keys are based on the generation seed. For Electrum is consists of 12 random words from a list of 2048 words.
http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#what-is-the-seed
So my intention when I wrote the draft was that "12 words" == generation seed.
