Hi,
I tested the EEEPC FSB downlocking that was recently integrated into tuned (laptop-battery-powersave profile), the results follows:
Runlevel 5
default : Pavgidle = 11.3 W; throughput: 5597 ssj_ops, Pavgload = 18.7 W
downclocked: Pavgidle = 9.6 W; throughput: 4330 ssj_ops, Pavgload = 14.8 W
Runlevel 1
default : Pavgidle = 9.5 W
downclocked: Pavgidle = 8.3 W
The system throughput drops when downclocked, but the powersavings are great. I was testing on Fedora 14 and Asus 1000H
This feature was integrated into laptop-battery-powersave profile of tuned-0.2.19-1. Currently it is in testing:

Feel free to test it and if it works for you do not forget to give it some positive karma ;)
regards
Jaroslav

Subject: Power Management SIG meeting
Hi,
I would like to re-introduce the Power Management (PM) SIG meetings.
The PM SIG (http://fedoraproject.org/w/index.php?title=SIGs/PowerManagement)
is a group of Fedora contributors that wants to improve the current state
of power management and savings across the whole Fedora distribution.
This starts at kernel components, goes over userland improvements up to
usability and user experience on the Desktop. There are #fedora-power IRC
channel (irc://irc.freenode.net/fedora-power) and power-management mailing
list (https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/power-management)
for discussion about the power management.
I would like to start the first 2011 PM meeting on Wednesday 26. 01. at
14:00 UTC on #fedora-meeting (same schedule as previous from
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_meeting_channel). Feel free to join us
regards
Jaroslav
