Rawhide xdvik obsoleted by F8 tetex-xdvi

I'm trying to use texlive packages from Rawhide on an F8 installation. I first installed from jnovy's F8 texlive repo, then updated from Rawhide. The texlive repo's xdvi package replaces tetex-xdvi, Rawhide's xdvik package replaces jnovy's xdvi, but the tetex-xdvi package in F8 updates replaces xdvik. -- Matthew Saltzman Clemson University Mathematical Sciences mjs AT clemson DOT edu http://www.math.clemson.edu/~mjs

missing components in kde

Dear all, I have two machines running rawhide, on one I use gnome and the other kde, on the one running kde exclusively I have to run switchdesk kde in order to run kde. It goes back into gnome. I have some missing components that I'd like to use, but they are not there :( konsole, kedit, konqueror, etc. See attached file. Bugzilla crashes Minefield

I was going to search for bugs in bugzilla before reportign a problem, but it seems that the search page reliably locks up Minefield (AKA Firefox). This is on a machine with only 512MB of memory (plus 1GB of swap). I may try submitting bug reports a little later using lynx or just skip the search and not worry about duplicates.

Software raid devices not starting -- udev prob?

Hi, all: After the rawhide update on 20080104 some of my software raid devices are not starting. Unknown, what is happening with console-kit-daemon? Summary: SELinux is preventing console-kit-dae(/usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon) (consolekit_t) "execute" to <Unknown> (polkit_auth_exec_t). Detailed Description: SELinux denied access requested by console-kit-dae(/usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon). It is not expected that this access is required by console-kit-dae(/usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon) and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is also possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is causing it to require additional access. Allowing Access: Sometimes labeling problems can cause SELinux denials. You could try to restore the default system file context for <Unknown>, restorecon -v <Unknown> If this does not work, there is currently no automatic way to allow this access. Instead, you can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ (http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Or you can disable SELinux protection altogether. 2.6.24 kernel released...for F7, F8 and F9?

I hope a kernel developer can jump on here, but... Is it possible that we will see this new kernel for F7, F8 and F9? I'm sure F9 will have it, per the ones you've been running for Koji, but what about these? I'd love to see one for F7, but I'm thinking it is so late in the support period that this may not happen. Thoughts? Concerns? SSH problem after yum upgrade

Last week I yum-upgraded two boxes to F8 and they both exhibited a similar problem with ssh. Namely that I was unable to ssh to them until I restarted the ssh daemon, even after having rebooted. Reporting it here as suggested on the wiki page.
