The screenshot is only for the latest lines in the screen.... Using Alt+Fkeys I can see respectively these on them (I got all screenshots with digikam if it can be useful) on various consoles: 3) path to valid iso found (name is rawhide 290308.iso but it was rsynced today with anaconda-11.4.0.61-1); try to mount; mounted; detected stage2 image on cd 4) iso9660 joliet level 3; unable to load NLS charset utf8; iso9660 extensions: rrip_1991A; isofs: unable to identify cd-rom format; vfs: can't find an ext2 filesystem on /dev/loop0 (several times); 5) mount, wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0 (several times) ... (typical other 3 lines when you try to mount a bad file on a loop device) So it seems that local hard disk iso image method doesn't work either with 13Gb iso image.... Correct? first AMD64-bit install ...Beta

Great job with the Beta. My only problem encountered when installing was that after checking the disc media with passed, pressing continue gave the blank error message and ejected the disc. Booting up again and bypassing the disc check allowed things to proceed without problems. Items that I did not like were the absence of the setting up boot preference. Of course the default packages are always lacking applications that I use, so retrieval after the initial install of these packages was needed. Things are much faster on this 64 bit Compaq. Nvidia driver of course is an inconvienience. Jim

F9 Beta PPC

Hi, I tried to install F9 beta on a PS3. The graphical installation does not work for me. X starts, the displays get grey and a mouse appears. Nothing more happens, after two hours of waiting I killed it. Text mode does work better, but Anaconda crashes while copying packages. Sadly, the "save to" feature to save a bug report does not work either. I connected an usb-floppy-disk (world`s first PS3 with a floppy disk :-)) and an usb memory-stick. The whole system freezes while writing to the usb-devices. Has anyone succesfully installed F9 PPC ? Just bad luck on my machine ? Is PS3 a target machine for F9-PPC oder are just real PPC machines targeted ? cu romal

fedora 9 beta livecd installation

I was installing fedora 9 beta through livecd, and on my slow desktop the English version works perfect. But when I try to install the system with Chinese version, after the keyboard option, the computer start lagging hard and showed no progress after a hour. Quite depressed. Also, my PackageKit NEVER EVER worked. It always say that "Software list cache is invalid and has to be rebuilt." :s Yum is often locked as well. Better than werewolf anyway, as in quality and speed. session and language not present in gdm window

Just installed from today rawhide. After installation I'm asked to create a user. Then when I restart and I'm presented with the gdm login I don' t see language and session options at the bottom bar. I see the user defined befor and the label "other...". If I click on this username I continue not to get them showed. Instead if I click on "other...", they suddenly appear and I can for example choose kdm as the sesison and select "other..." in language label... Where to file bug, gdm itself? PS: the installation target was a qemu-kvm virtual machine with nfs method, pointing to the physical server that shares the rsynced tree Gianluca
