Hello. I have an HP Deskjet 3700 (WiFi). It is correctly listed when I go to add a new printer, and it works without any issue on F32 and F31 (Workstation). On F33 it is automatically discovered, but if I try to add it, I get a popup stating "Failed to add new printer".
Looking at the logs, I can see
Aug 27 20:05:13 pbale cupsd[1691]: REQUEST localhost - - "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 6788911 CUPS-Get-PPDs - Aug 27 20:05:14 pbale cupsd[1691]: [CGI] Unable to create PPD file: Could not poll sufficient capability info from the printer (ipp://HP%20DeskJet%203700%20series%20%5B5B976D%5D._ipp._tcp.local/, ipp://HPF430B95B976D.local:631/ipp/print) via IPP! Aug 27 20:05:15 pbale gnome-shell[2549]: g_variant_unref: assertion 'value != NULL' failed
However, the printer appears as installed (but it doesn't work). If I try to go in "Printer details" and "Select from Database...", I can see the list of manufacturers, but for each of them the right panel (where printers models should be listed) is always empty.
Does anyone has tested a printer with F33? I wonder if it is a problem with this specific printer or there is some bug in cups.
Thanks, A.

Sounds like it might be related to this this?: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1868141
At the very least, the broken "Select from Database..." dialog sounds similar.
alciregi,
I have a similar issue. Reference the bug below.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1812515
Try the following. Set up a root password. On the terminal use (sudo passwd). Enter a pass word and then verify it. Close the terminal. Open your browser and go to localhost:631 then click Administration. Then click Add Printer. Log into CUPS with User = root and your root password you just set up. You may need to click Add Printer again. Your printer should be listed. Select your printer and Continue. Follow through with the rest of the setup procedure to see if CUPS can directly setup your printer. If not you should should file a bug report at Bugzilla and an Issue at gitlab-gnome.
Have a Great Day!

And ok, via cups web interface I'm able to configure the printer.
Actually, I'm also able to configure the printe on GNOME, but only if I specify the IP address of the printer. It doesn't ask to select the printer driver, it is detected automaticalyy.
Only "automatic discovery" lead to a non working printer (as described before) and to issues with GNOME settings. And also:
Sep 07 14:40:33 cupsd[326885]: [CGI] Unable to create PPD file: Could not poll sufficient capability info from the printer (ipps://HP%20DeskJet%203700%20series%20%5B5B976D%5D._ipps._tcp.local/, ipps://HPF430B95B976D.local:443/ipp/print) via IPP! Bug 1868141 and 1812515 look similar, yes, but I'm not sure they describe the same issue.
Ciao, A.
