Not sure whether this belongs in this forum, or if any of you have noticed this or not, but:
I'm running FC3 on my laptop.
We run Oracle on RH AS 2.1 and RH ES 3.0. We also use ocfs for storage.
When I try to run an ocfstool on the server, which is a graphic ocfs configuration tool, I get the window, but clicking on any meny items crashes the windows and causes the following errors on client:
sh-2.05# rpm -qa|grep ocfs ocfs-support-1.0.10-1 ocfs-tools-1.0.10-1 ocfs-2.4.9-e-enterprise-1.0.11-1
sh-2.05# ocfstool Gdk-ERROR **: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) serial 947 error_code 3 request_code 38 minor_code 0 Gdk-ERROR **: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied) serial 948 error_code 10 request_code 102 minor_code 0
Running same tool on my FC2 worked fine. Running it on my RH8 desktop also works fine.
Similarly, I can launch xterm to my FC3 form the same host and that will work fine as well. Tried xedit - works fine.
Looked through the web - nothing.
Any ideas? -V
Just wondering... Are you using ssh to transfer the X window? Like
ssh host-who-is-running-the-app -l whatever user password: blah # ochfstool *boom*
Try using the -X (or -Y) flag to ssh. Some changes where made. I think they where mentioned in the release-notes.
man ssh

I am ssh'ing. And I have x forwarding turned on. I get the window, it just crashes for some undetermined reason. I get other windows displayed just fine, it seems. Thanks, -V On Mon, 2004-11-29 at 21:35 +0100, Kyrre Ness Sjobak wrote:

Use ssh -Y or put "ForwardTrustedX11 yes" in /etc/ssh/ssh_config. I didn't understand this new option fully but it seems "ForwardX11" or ssh -X don't allow some X extensions to be used anymore.
That did it. Thank you! -V On Tue, 2004-11-30 at 09:03 +0100, Lionel Bouton wrote:
