Alpine will not show attachments

Hi, I am running alpine-2.00-1.fc10.x86_64 on an F10 box. If I get a message with an html or file attachment and I try to open it, I get an error that "Firefox can't find the file at /tmp/img--46112.htm" The correct program opens up but I always get the can't find file errors. If the message contains a URL then it comes up and displays properly. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem? Automatically added to Bugzilla CC list

I would like to be automatically added to the CC list for a bug on Bugzilla after I report it. However in spite of having in my Bugzilla preferences the setting "Automatically add me to the CC list of bugs I change" = "Always", automatic adding is not working. Any ideas?

Fedora 14 + ATI Video Drivers + VLC

Does anyone know of any issues regarding VLC in Fedora 14 with ATI Video drivers? I'm running into a huge memory leak issue when I play a video in VLC. The video plays fine for about 30 or 45 seconds then memory utilization goes through the roof. By through the roof, I mean it jumps to about 18GB of RAM before I can get the process killed. Other video utilities like Dragon Player and the others don't seem to have this issue. Home virtual topo map advice?

I have four legacy suites of map software (Garmin and three others that I care less about) and four different GPSs (all Garmin), with a dozen years' accumulation of waypoints, routes, etc. Wine under Fedora usually (not always, for some reason) lets me install and run the Garmin suite and one other; but it does not enable the software to talk to the GPSs (which all use a serial port -- and no serial/USB adapter I know of helps). I've looked, every couple of years, at various linux-native map software, and always found a learning curve that would be beyond whatever life and strength I may have left -- even if I were sure it could digest my legacy data. So, afaict, the alternative is to install a virtual M$ under one of the virtualization packages, and run my legacy software under that. It will almost never get a connection to the Net, other than updates from Garmin. Has anyone here done this? Is one package more user-friendly than another? The last time I looked at one, two or three years ago (and I disremember which), it had a learning curve as daunting as linux-native map software .... more problems with fc14 as vm guests

I'm running several kvm vm's on a centos5.6 system. I have an FC13 guest that is working fine. I had two working FC14 guests, and each one broke when I updated to kernel 2.6.35.12-90.fc14.i686 One broke a couple weeks ago, so I delayed updating the second FC14 guest, which was running kernel 2.6.25.12-88.fc14.i686 -- until today. I had installed both FC14s with the default LVM layout. In both cases, the update seemed to be proceeding but toward the end, when I wasn't looking, both times the guest just shut down by itself. And in both cases when I tried to boot, I the failure involved not being able to mount the root fs, but the systems fail differently. In one case, I am dropped directly into the grub shell, but grub cannot find root. In the other case, I can get the regular grub menu, but whether I choose the new kernel or the earlier kernel, I get a kernel panic. thanks in advance. -- http://www.fastmail.fm - Faster than the air-speed velocity of an unladen european swallow

gcc vs. icc

Hello, I observed better performances by using icc comparer to gcc-4.4.5 (50 to 100%). Of course the binary code is bigger. Is it normal ? Firefox / Compiz problem to mull over with someone.

Hi; My problem is not a big one or a rush. It is just gotten under my skin and would like help with a fix or a hack or something. Problem: I can't get Compiz at startup to place Firefox on viewport (workspace) #2 at startup or login. Information: Using Firefox 3.6.16 and Compiz 0.8.6 I have four horizontal workspaces on my bottom panel. One of the workspaces (#2) I want to dedicate to Firefox. My Start Applications program has a bash script that is supposed to delay the start of Firefox, i.e. "sleep 15; firefox & exit". It is one of my attempts at a workaround. Through the CCSM Place Windows plugin I have set up the following Viewport positioned windows: (title=Firefox$ | class=Firefox-bin X Viewport Postions: 2 Y Viewport Postions: 1 What happens: At startup, either login or restart, Firefox opens in viewport #2 very briefly then moves itself to viewport #1. If at startup, because of my delay script, I can get the focus onto viewport #2 with my mouse, then Firefox will open on #2 and stay there. During a session, after start up is completed, I can close Firefox, focus on any viewport and when I re-launch Firefox it will automatically open in viewport #2 as it should. What I think is happening is that at startup, the workspace switcher applet is stealing the focus from Firefox and placing the focus where the workspace switcher wants the focus, namely workspace #1. I am asking if anyone has any suggestions on how to make compiz retain the proper placement or how to change the focus on the workspace switcher applet to workspace #2 at startup? What I have tried: I have googled. Other people with earlier versions of Ubuntu have filed bugs on the same issue. No replies. Asked on the Compiz user manual, site, mailsite and chat. I was told to wait for Compiz version 0.9 with no guarantee there was a fix coming. I think it requires the synchronization of too many small programs, applets and scripts to get a real answer. In any case, by now this has become more of an intriguing problem for me to solve than just a hassle or a frustration. set norelatime on f15?

F15beta running in vm. I changed /etc/fstab to say: /dev/mapper/vg_nbecker6f15-lv_root / ext4 norelatime 1 1 UUID=768e1633-a96b-4932-832b-f65778b51627 /boot ext4 defaults 1 2 ... But according to mount, norelatime was ignored. 2 questions: 1) What do I need to do to get norelatime? 2) I see /home mounted, but there is no entry in /etc/fstab. I was misconstrued as having insulted Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. My words were twisted and misinterpreted and I feel that there is a need to explain myself and set the record straight. [b]What really happened[/b] It was sometime in Aug/Sep in the year 2009. The setting was in the Tampines Central office of Asiasoft Online Pte Ltd. I was having a ***verbal*** conversation with Melvin Lee, my new I.T. department manager, when he challenged me to complete an I.T. assignment within a specified period of time. In response to his challenge, I replied in Mandarin: "If I cannot complete the I.T. assignment within a specified period of time, then Lee Kuan Yew is wang ba dan". I used to be fond of using other people's names to "bet" with people but now no more. The Minister Mentor's name came into my mind spontaneously and I used it to "bet" with my I.T. department manager. [b]Explanations[/b] 1. It was not my intention to insult the Minister Mentor at that time. Please note the use of the IF... THEN... statement in my verbal conversation. 2. I did not know wang ba dan [hanyu pinyin] means bastard at all until I consulted Goh Meng Seng much later.
