Hi All,
This is what I am running to upgrade from 29 to 30 beta:
# rpm --rebuilddb # rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest if anything is too new, do a # dnf downgrade offender(s)
# dnf --enablerepo=* update --refresh # dnf install python3-dnf-plugin-system-upgrade # dnf system-upgrade download --refresh --releasever=30 --allowerasing --best # dnf clean packages <-- optional # dnf system-upgrade reboot
When I run the "dnf system-upgrade reboot", it reboots, tells me an upgrade is on progress, and about five second later, reboots again, shows no 30 kernels, and I am back in 29.
What did I do wrong?
Many thanks, -T

Wrong list. This should go to the Fedora Test list (many of whose members do not read the Users list).

Hi Patrick,
I just singed up for the list and re-posted over there. Thank you!

can't find your post on test-list, so I answer here
I did some days ago:
1. sudo dnf upgrade --refresh
2. sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade
3. sudo dnf system-upgrade download --refresh --releasever=30 --setopt='module_platform_id=platform:f30' --allowerasing
- the above is ONE line with a blank between "=30" and "--setopt" -
4. sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot
5. sudo dnf system-upgrade clean

I haven't seen it show up yet, but I am seeing other people's posts.
#3 was different than mine. I am repeating your #3 right now
Thank you!

Well, this time it did the updates after rebooting, buttttttttttt then I got:
Minimal BASH-link line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions

Uhhhhh. Guys!

As Patrick pointed out, you should post about f30-beta issues on the test list.

Todd,
I think you misunderstand. I posted both places. On the test list to try to figure out how to fix this and on this group to warm my friends as to what may be in-store for them if they try this.

Not useful information. F30 is unreleased and will presumably fix this (if it is actually an issue) before it becomes relevant for this list. Meantime, anyone wishing to try it should be on the Test list in any case.
