Hi,
I would really love to see this feature on copr. A button, that would simply say: "Hey, I'm using this repository". And a counter behind it.
Advantages: * The maintainer would know that his/her repo has user(s) and how many * Better selection for Fedora Playground
Disadvantages: * Users would need to perform a certain action (not everybody would) * Users will forget to undo the button once they stop using the repository * Not all users have FAS accounts and can sign in to the app
What to you think? I might have time to implement this, but I don't want to invest it to an unwanted feature.

I think that's good idea. Should we require FAS for clicking button?

In general: no. But it would require other way to distinguish users. Logging in by FAS is already implemented.

How about fetching such statistics from apache's access log? No need for sign in and you probably get more accurate results.

That is what I have in my head for some time. There is little complication thou... the repos and log are on -be machine, while you want it to present on -fe machine.

Maybe we could ask Remi what he is using as he does keep some stats about the usage of his repo :) He might have a nice solution or some scripts to share.

A post transaction script that curls his tracker? :)

No no, I did read the thread before replying... I believe his solutions are using the apache logs.
