I've built qemu 0.9.0 into FE-devel. Please poke at it and scream if you don't want me to put it into FE6.
I've already closed UPSTREAM the RFE for kqemu, so don't bother hassling me about it. I would rather roger myself with a chainsaw than muck around with the abomination that is external kernel modules.

Oh, kqemu has been GPL'ed! Neat :-)
I'll try to make some dkms enabled packages of it.

Quickly tested, seems to work fine (x86_64). The only minor detail is one that has already been discussed today on another list : The package itself is "noarch", but it doesn't make sense on anything else than i386 and x86_64...

The new version causes SYSLINUX to hang when attempting to boot an FC6 diskboot.img.
Apparently the problem is in the bios, as replacing bios.bin with the one from qemu 0.8.2 avoids the hang (although this will probably affect guest ACPI functionality). I've reported the problem to the qemu-devel list but there hasn't been any response yet.

add -std-vga to the qemu command line and it works.
Weird--that doesn't make any difference when I try it. SYSLINUX still hangs during "Loading initrd.img" after printing 90 or so dots.
Which image are you booting?

I tested with the x86_64 rescue image with this commad: qemu-system-x86_64 -cdrom imagename.iso -hd hd.img -m 960 -localtime -bootd -kernel-kqemu -std-vga (replace qemu-system-x86_64 with qemu on i386)

There's apparently a BIOS issue on i386? There's also one on PPC; I'm working on getting it to boot Fedora in qemu-system-ppc. I'd like to get those sorted first.

The i386 BIOS issue (SYSLINUX hanging) has been fixed in qemu CVS: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2007-02/msg00128.html
