Hi FAMA Mentors,
agreeing with Tuan I'd like to inform you that FAMA and FAmSCo have
put in place the last step of the new mentoring process. As you
already know, mentors will handle the whole mentoring process of their
candidates, as described in the last mail and in the wiki page [1].
Mentors open the tickets of the candidates and will also close them by
sponsoring their mentorees or rejecting their request. Mentors also
have become sponsors in the Ambassadors FAS Group and are able to
approve the candidates directly, without any needs of Tuan (FAMA).
This was the status until a few days ago. FAmSCo decided also, and
FAMA agreed, to make another change to keep the mentoring process as
clean as possible. The FAS Ambassadors Group now is 'invite only' and
'needs sponsor'. This means that new candidates will not be able (or
don't need) anymore to apply to the FAS Group, obtaining the following
advantages:
1) Less work for the FAMA, he won't have to clean up the FAS Group
from unapproved users manually.
2) Less work for new candidates, often they didn't even know how to
apply. Candidates can concentrate their work entirely on the mentoring
process.
3) Just a few clicks more for the mentors, who at this point have the
whole control over the approval process of their mentorees.
FAS cleanup has been already done, from now on the sponsoring queue is empty!
Please have a look at these details and remember you are the persons
who now control the approval process entirely.
Ongoing ambassadors who already have a ticket assigned will continue
their mentoring process as before, nothing has changed although they
were removed from the FAS queue. Once they obtain a 'thumbs up' from
their mentor he will approve them also to the FAS Group. That's all.
