Greetings, I would like to distribute OpenSpades on COPR. The license of the code itself is GPLv3. But it depends on content which I am not sure can be distributed on COPR. I have attached a link to the license in question below. Can I distribute the files in question on COPR? https://github.com/yvt/openspades-paks/blob/master/Nonfree/LICENSE.md

No. It is _almost_ acceptable as a content license, but the restriction on distribution for only "non-commercial open-source project" prevents it from being considered "freely distributable".

Thanks for the reply, just in case I've added a script to the package which downloads the content. The content itself is not included in the package. I guess that's ok?

No, that only applies to code. I believe these files would be considered content, and thus, this arrangement where the user downloads the content that we cannot/will not distribute is fine.

I also forgot we are talking about Copr here, which doesn't have to comply with all the Fedora packaging guidelines.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that packages in COPR still have to comply with the Fedora packaging requirements which pertain to copyright/trademark/patent/trade secrets. Or has that changed and I didn't notice?!?

It hasn't changed. I don't know where Miro was going with his comment.

I'm sorry for the unnecessary noise. My point here was that Fedora packages not downloading parts they need from the wild Internet is probably (in my opinion) not legal requirement, thus it (in my opinion) does not apply to Copr.
However, I'm going to stop this, before as it seems I cause more and more confusion, since I've posted the first reply (I've done that without much thinking apparently).

They have to meet the guidelines for licensing, not the guidelines for packaging. The point is that the content must be legal, not that it all be packaged according to our stringent guidelines.
That said, the line between those probably isn't going to be completely clear to most people. I'm not really sure how we can make it clearer but I'm sure Spot and I could work together to implement reasonable suggestions.
