Hi everyone.
Arno, I just realized that I might have the first bit of our
cooperation in place since some time.
I created an OpenLayers custom control recently. It's a simple login
form that can be minimized/maximized (just like the layer switcher).
You can see it in action at http://bochecha.fedorapeople.org/shomyu/
(first video). That's the base of what will be 0.7 (everything in the
map widget so that it can be included like an API in any web page).
You can find the code in shomyu/public/javascript/LoginControl.js
I'm pretty sure there are a number of shomyu-specific hardcoded stuff
in it, but if you're interested, we could make it more generic so that
it is useful to you as well (and maybe even submit it for inclusion
upstream in OpenLayers ? :)
What do you think ? Does that make sense for your project ?

Hi!
I'm created new variant of logo.
Base on:
1. Simbol globe from dots.(it's « mapping »)[[BR]]
2. Three mens. (it's « people » and « meeting »)
What do you think about this concept.
Thanks!
Alexander.

Hi folks
I just commited [1] the migration to TurboGears2.
Basically, I rewrote a small part of the code and simply moved the
rest to rebase Shomyu on this newer and more modern version of the
framework.
Among all the benefits are the following:
- use exclusively standard python libraries, instead of its own
internal thingies like TG1
- out-of-box i18n
- easy integration with WSGI (thanks to Pylons)
- SQLAlchemy feels way better than SQLObject
- a (soon to come) registration module, to enable users to create an
account and then display their location (this is a GSoC project)
- better error messages (that proved to be incredibly useful during
this migration)
- a cache system for improved performances
- and lots of others ! [2]
Of course, you won't run Shomyu with TG2 the same way you did with
TG1. Checkout the new instructions. [3]
Comments and feedback are most welcome, especially on the
documentation which I'm sure is quite bad at the moment. Also, I'm
sure we don't all run Fedora 11 on this list, so I'd love to hear
about how to install Shomyu on another system, so that this could be
written in the doc as well. ;)
Happy testing / hacking!
Regards,

confused by the date of the commit, that's because of the distributed
nature of Git)
