Is there any reason why thunderbird is named "Mail/New Client" instead of "Mozilla Thunderbird" in the UI window?
At a guess, it would be because you know what thunderbird is, and a newbie knows they want a mail/news client. So it's a win either way.
R.
I don't think this is on purpose as the icon for thunderbird is also missing along with the name.
Its actually probably the same reason as the FireFox beta is still using the DeerPark labelling... so that if they wish to move it to a later nightly build to fix problems they don't have to change the labelling from the main moz naming to the alpha/non standard naming scheme.
