Greetings Everyone,
YumLangpackPlugin Test day is coming up:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2010-02-25_YumLangpackPlugin
This event will focus on a yum plugin that allows langpacks to be automatically installed for your native language when base packages with langpacks get installed. So testing it with various languages is highly welcomed to this test day.
In the past, we had to install the langpack of some packages such as kde openoffice manually, see bug433512[1]. But now such langpack can be installed automatically if yum-langpacks installed in advance. Good news is that these cases steps can be easily followed and even execute on a F12 system. If you are trying to install a F13 system in your local language, you are already attending this test day! Check the above link for detailed results.
Please come to this event and learn this useful plugin. I'm sure you'll feel fun from it!o(* ̄▽ ̄*)o
Thanks, He Rui

Greetings,
Thanks for the ones showing up in the Yum Langpack Plugin test day[1]. We don't have much incoming but now we know what works well and a few important bugs were identified and summarized as below:
568361 NEW - Additional langpacks are not installed when language changed 568379 NEW - PackageKit does not show additional language packages sometimes 569352 ASSIGNED - Broken dependencies for 1:openoffice.org-langpack-en-3.2.0-12.7.fc13.x86_64
The test cases didn't cover all the areas since one can't examine every package install/update with langpack plugin loaded. But they did provide the directions for testing this plugin. So please continue your testing while using yum, packageKit, especially after a fresh f13 install. If you encounter any defect, feel free to contact us as before.
Thanks for the support from Jens and the other i18n developers! ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Cheers, He Rui

Thanks Rui for preparing and conducting the Test Day - much appreciated and good that important bugs got uncovered - I hope to address them for Beta. Sorry I was not able to participate much directly on the day.
