Hi all,
find below the list of topics that are planed for the next EPEL SIG meeting which is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday at 17:00 UTC in #fedora-extras on irc.freenode.org.
/topic EPEL Meeting – broken deps – Jeff_S, All /topic EPEL Meeting – when to run the spam o magic script – mmcgrath /topic EPEL Meeting – branch for EPEL if Fedora maintainer does not react – knurd /topic EPEL Meeting – push new packages to testing after EPEL annoucement – dgilmore /topic EPEL Meeting – EPEL announcement -- everything ready? – quaid, all /topic EPEL Meeting – new meeting time? – all (see also http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/NewMeetingTime )
You want something to be discussed? Send a note to the list in reply to this mail and I'll add it to the schedule (I can't promise we will get to it tomorrow, but we'll most likely will if we don't run out of time). You can also propose topics at the end of the meeting itself.
If your name/nick is on above list please give a update. That way all the interested parties know what up ahead of the meeting; that will avoid long delays and "status update monologues in the meeting.
Thanks!
CU knurd

See http://www.sheltren.com//epel/repoclosure/2007-07-25/ for a run of repoclosure this morning. This is against CentOS 4.5 base + updates, so it may be slightly different than what the spam-o-epel reports, but we should be looking at both.
Summary: There are still a number of unresolved dependencies.
I think that any unresolved deps should be removed from the repos before going live. For example, give maintainers until the start of next week to get the needed deps into EPEL. Also something to consider: we should re-run repoclosure after removing the packages with broken deps to see what else we broke by removing them -- hopefully this is not a lot of packages!

If we move all those into testing that I flagged as "/me votes for moving it to testing" then we need to move php-pear-File-SMBPasswd-1.0.2-1.el5.noarch.rpm nikto-1.36-3.el5.noarch.rpm as well, as they depend on packages being moved.

I am in the process of getting these deps fixed. mhash and mcrypt have been built, and php-extras that provides php-mhash and php-mcrypt is on it's way.
