Dear list,
I recently switched full-time to Fedora and was excited to read about the
ibus input methods which provide one of the features I value most from
macOS.
In the article [1] is mentioned that the popover includes a search field,
and I've been unable to replicate that, and have found no configuration
option for that on Fedora 30.
I wondered if this has been removed as a potential issue concerning IP from
Apple, or whether ibus-typing-booster's focus on indic languages has meant
that the pop-over with search functionality has fallen to the wayside in
favour of the typeahead suggestion approach with a rich family of keyboard
shortcuts.
I shot a short video/gif ([2] [3]) indicating how this works on macOS, and
what I was hoping to achieve on Gnome with the ibus typing booster.
If anyone can shed light on whether the project has changed direction, or
whether this feature is better activated using another piece of software,
or whether it's simply a misconfiguration on my part I would be most
grateful.
Kind regards, and thanl you to the maintainers for taking on such a tricky
project and building something extremely exciting.
