hello to all, just a thought, but shouldn't we have a presence in Second Life? we could be the first distro their. by that we can deliver information regarding fedora, sell DVD and chat around to deliver our message. Hello there, Some updates concerning Chemnitzer : - We have to submit the names and email-adresses of everybody who will be there for our booth by 31st of January (in order that you can get free entrance, free "Indoor-Camping" (in a gym nearby with sleeping bag), and free entrance for the social event) -- Knowing the fact, that I will be broke after FOSDEM, JensKuehnel could you get me a free "Indoor-Campin" for me, please :) ? [Small correction: on the site it looks like the deadline applies for the booth staff too, but I've been told me that usually on CLT one can register staffer also later. For the rest the deadline is the 31st.] - CLT is making a poster for each booth - we need to submit a design proposal by 31st of Januar, 6.pm - if we don't do so, there will be only a simple version of the CLT poster with minmal content (more info see link below). FOSDEM:Reminder 12/02/01 : Insurance

As past years, Fosdem will provide a hardware insurance (which is free of cost for us) for all the hardware you will bring along. That insurance for Fedora Speakers and Fedora Personnals at the Booth - - is free of charge - - is intended in our devroom (but not for the 4000+ visitors ;)) For every device you bring along and that you want to be covered by their insurance, you must send us the following data: * vendor/model * the name and email address of the owner * the type of device (notebook, network switch, PDA, ...) * the vendor and name of the device (e.g. Dell Latitude D800) * serial number or other unique identifier that is visible on the device * estimation of its current value, in EUR Note that FOSDEM's insurance will only cover the hardware for which they've received the information as above *before Mon 12 Feb*. Please hand me over these data as soon as possible. Afterwards, FredericHornain will send the complete final list to FOSDEM. Hi, In tunisia, many peoples don't have internet connexion. I write with my friend (haytem ben tanfous) bash to make local repo of packages in the cd (bonus package) and launch the setup of yumex to have a beautiful interface to the begining users. finnaly, he launche yumex with the local repo. i change keepcache to 1 in the /etc/yum.conf to make a save of the rpms that i downloads. i copy all packages in the repo directory and i make : $createrepo . the tree of the cd is : CD -|-repo.sh |-repo-|all packages Have fun with fedora :) -- M'BAREK Med Nihed, Fedora Ambassador, TUNISIA, Northern Africa

I`ve asked the head of the school if it`s oke with them if i try to find someone that could do that presentation and they said it was fine cinse they couldn`t find anyone or didn`t know where to look. and they would be happy if i could find someone. So in short: Could someone of the Fedora Core team who speeks dutch (and lives in the netherlands) do a presentation in the IDCollege in Zoetermeer (Netherlands) and tell stuff about linux in general and what it can do. - tell what linux is - what the future holds for linux - why linux - where is linux good at.. (just the general things you would wonder if you never used linux before) o and i`m just looking for a person.. the final decissions need to be made with my school. I hope to from Fedora soon. Hi, DFSA ( digital free software association) present open source pruducts to tunisian people. in the children day, I present fedora preject to boys at 10 years. At the end of the day, he love linux and the beryl effect ( I think that is the point that help linux to be popular in the future). I am 11 years in the computer science market and has 4 years implementing and managing solutions in GNU/Linux.
