Hi, as we discussed at the last EMEA ambassadors meeting: we have moved from the "come up with ideas" phase to the "submit quotes and make it happen" phase. So if you want something to be produced, don't only suggest it, go for it, find a vendor, get quotes, and propose them.
I'm going to have some Fedora swag produced for our office and I can also produce swag for Fedora EMEA. Here are my proposals:
Baseball caps: cap - €2 (for example: http://www.excursion.sk/detail/103544 or any other cap in their selection) front needlework - €0.7 back needlework - €0.4 total: €3.1
Mugs (http://www.excursion.sk/detail/986578): with artwork baked in the glazing: €0.8125
Rollerball pens: pen - €0.25 (e.g. http://www.excursion.sk/detail/261174) two-colour print - €0.1287 total: €0.3787
We can of course produce anything they have in the store. For example, they also make T-shirts.
Jiri
Hi Jiri,
what a great idea! Everybody produces SWAG .... ... by his own ... ... payed by his own money ... ... and his own idea what ?!
We had this issue more than once; we had it also at our last FAD in Rheinfelden in 2010. We also had several tasks for different people. But I think it will be lost due a lack of payment. If I order and produce for maybe 10 or 20 people, no problem; but if I start to produce for EMEA SWAG it s very fast a amount of thousends in every currency. And I'm sorry, I haven't that amount on the side to "spend" or loan it to red Hat for half a year or longer :-( But it is also a good point again to put it on the agenda for the next EMEA FAD (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAD_EMEA_2012)
all the best
Gerold

Nope, here is how it works: 1. You have an idea. 2. You look for a vendor and have them give you a quote. 3. With that quote, you file a ticket in the EMEA swag tracker. 4. The regional community will decide whether or not to produce something. 5. Depending on the amount of money it will have to be confirmed by FAmSCo. 6. OSAS will pay the swag.
So what we want is people NOT just saying "I want a pink pony" BUT "I know where to get pink ponies and they are 5 EUR each". :)
Kind regards, Christoph

+2 if it really works in the wild. But I appreciate the idea much. gerold
Christoph, thank you for clearing this aspect, this step by step mail should be included also in the wiki,IMO. We would avoid a lot of useless requests.

Months ago we asked for tablecloth quotes. And we are still waiting for other quotes than mine. Sharing the cost by producing five or more would be really cool. And this is something really important on a booth.
The basball caps are really cheap!!! That's nice thanks Jiri I am +1 for this. For the pen too.
Also, being able to sell (without profit) product to our contributors would be really nice (like voyager bags). But for this kind of product we could probably have someone dealing with one production, and contributors sending the money, a bit like for the amba polo shirt.
Kind regards, Christoph

This is great!
To whom should we assign such a ticket?

Nobody, it will be assigned to the person who has to pay after a decision was made.
If there are multiple offers for the same item, please use one ticket.
