My fellow ambassadors,
as you Fedora 20 is to be released on December 10. It marks the 10th anniversary of of Fedora and we want to make it a big party. Please help us making this a truly unique release and you will be rewarded with something that is truly unique, too. :-)
If you want to host a Fedora F20 release event, please submit it NOW because we are already past the official deadline.
To submit your events, please follow these steps as usual: 1. Start by creating an wiki page. IT should be named https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Release_Party_F20_<your_city> 2. Add {{subst:ReleaseParty}} at the top of the page and save it. 3. Fill in the details 4. Add your page to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F20_release_events 5. Congrats, you made it! Now you only need to do the event itself ;)
Of course we are willing to help you where ever we can. If you need budget, swag or other marketing material, please let us know.
Budget: We usually support release events with up to USD 100 for swag, food and drinks. * APAC: https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-apac/ * EMEA: https://fedorahosted.org/emea-swag-tracking/ * NA: https://fedorahosted.org/famnarequests/ * LATAM: https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-latam/
Swag: We have tried to produce enough swag for all regions, but not every items is available everywhere. Please ask others what they have and how to get it. Many regions use their trac instances for swag requests.
Poster: We will create a poster template you can use to advertise your event. Stay tuned for more info.
Event reports: When you run an event, please take photos, blog about it, use social networks or anything else to share your party with us. Please refer to http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Event_reports for more info.
Award: Release party owners and helpers will get an exclusive and totally awesome Fedora badge not yet available at https://badges.fedoraproject.org As usual, FAmSCo will award the best release event in every region (based on event reports and fotos) and the winning team will sponsored a dinner.
Fore more info, have a look at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraEvents/ReleaseEvents and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask on this list.
Regards, Christoph

This leads us to media or scheduling the events in general. If you want to distribute Fedora 20 media, please note that it takes at least one week after general availability of a new release until we have media. In Europe, it's more like 10 days, not to forget shipping.
The timing is always a poker game. On the one hand, nobody can stand waiting for the new release and wants to install it as soon as possible, on the other hand we can always have a bit of delay in the release process. And if the release is delayed, it's delayed by at least one week.
Long story short: So please don't be too optimistic with scheduling a release event. Try to make it soon, but make sure you have enough time to get everything you need in place. We don't want to delay our events, this time, we want the most awesome release parties EVER! :-)
Best regards, Christoph

For release - we have time only for two attempts this year to release, I believe it's more than enough but it could also lead to January slip. But I'd say - honestly, January should be the aim for events, there's no way we would be able to produce media (the company is usually more than busy this time of year) and also - holidays are holidays - skip it unless you want Christmas party :D

I agreed with Jaroslav. December month is good for fill up wiki page, and planing the release party. Second half of January will be OK to the release parties.
