FAmSCo is working organizing a contest that will involve F11 Release Events.
We will evaluate event reports (photos, blog posts etc.), paying attention to the organization (read http://blog.mrtomlinux.org/index.php?post/HowTo-run-a-successful-IP, thanks to Thomas Canniot) and everything that could help your event to be a Fedora Style one.
During the next days we will give you more details about it.
So, if you haven't think about it yet, this could be an interesting reason.
Regards
Francesco Ugolini

Dear Francesco,
I am willingly to bring Nicaraguan event to this contest. The expectation has been so high over here that we ended up making two events. One will be kind of warm up, before the big event.
Please keep me posted.
Best regards

Sure, the contest is open to all Release Events.
Just make sure to add your event in FedoraEvents, and report your events trought blog posts, photos, and ahatever you want.
It's a pleasure to hear your willingness to join it, and, sure, you are welcome!
Regards
Francesco
p.s. after the report, it could be useful to have a M-L email with the blog post link and so on.... thanks
With the previous email, FAmSCo announced the Fedora 11 Release Events Contest.
We discussed about what could be considered a good prize: we have decided to give the possibility to the winner to join her/his regional FUDCon.
I invite whoever want to join the contest to: organize a Release Events, write a report (e.g. photos, but sure, don't worry if you can't be able to materially do them) and, at last but not least, enjoy the emotion to share with other your experience and all the amazing features F11 has.
Sure you'll get this opportunity

This is fantastic Francesco! There could not possibly be a better prize for an ambassador and I want to wish everyone luck and success at their release parties.

This is a wonderful prize, but only if the event is a one man show. If this is a team effort will be awkward to choose who is going to have the trip of his or her life.
If it comes to me, I will change that prize (without remorse) for having one of the prominent fedora people coming here (to Nicaragua) and giving some talks. That way, all people in the team can benefit. It also will skyrocket the promotion work that one ambassador is doing in one area. But I sure will understand people keeping the proposed prize, as it is nice to go on trips.
Just my two cents!
Any way, I will give my best, just because I will love to have my country name be commented ;)
Maybe we need a top three of events, with prizes accordingly ;)
At the moment there are 13 events registered an the wiki: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Release_Party#Upcoming_Release_Parties_-_Fedo...
And I'm sure there will be some more of which there must be some really original ones.
I agree that for team-efforts something for the whole group/team/location would be more appropriate then to seclude one person from the group and give them a personal prize.
I am not sure what would be a cool prizes to give to the most original groups though, any other ideas/suggestions?

Every events will receive the support they need, like "normal" events we will adopt the same policy to reimburse events cost (see /FedoraEvents to learn more about Reimbursement policy).
BTW, stay sure we will find a way to prize the team that work behind the prize :) Naturally we will talk with the winner if she/he want to modify the prize.
To Neville A. Cross: sure we will work with the winner to see how the prize could be used.
