Sometime ago, I was asked to help organizing a shared meeting with EMEA and NA to share ideas about initiatives and have a better look at each other.
I want to ask all the interest to think about it, once again, maybe trying to find a time/date to make this important meeting happening.

I've been wanting to do something like this for some time. Sounds like a great idea to do this *at least* once a quarter. And this could/should apply to other regions as well methinks.
Cheers,
Clint

The first goal now is to have, finally, a first meeting and understand what are the common goals, how each part worked on a task and generally to "understand what was done, just to not do that again" and improve community interaction.
Sure, I mentioned NA and EMEA because there was a preliminary discussion with those ones some time ago, but, for sure, such initiative could/should be replicated with other regions too.
Thank you for your ideas.
Of course, feedbacks are always welcome ;)
Regards
Francesco Ugolini
I really appreciate such initiative and it could be a great idea to arrange the meeting as a regular meeting bi-monthly.

Not until after FOSDEM -- I think things are too busy for the EMEA ambassadors this week (at least they are for me!).
I would encourage Francesco to pick 2 or 3 times next week -- between the 10th and the 14th -- and we just use whatever time works for the most people.

This week I couldn't be able too. I was talking about long term plan (mid-end February).
I wanted only to not hide a long discussion stated some months ago that needed to be "achieved".
I'm sorry if this point was unclear, btw, thank you for the advice.

Francesco Ugolini
Ok, FOSDEM is past. I think we should think about a possible date/time to finally have this meeting.
I want to ask all of you (expecially who suggested this initiative) what is the preferred date/time in order to have at least some people from both side.
After this experiment FAmSCo will analize the results and, surely (no doubt of it), will try to investigate the possibility to have such meetings with other regions tool.
Keep in mind that its aim is to give local groups the possibility to share experience/solve common problems and discuss about the wide possibility to collaborate on common tasks. This initiative should be taken when needed and, according to the initiative sponsors, there were some common topics to take care of it.
I invite, moreover, to suggest a chair for this meeting, maybe one of the regional meeting chair and tell here again the agends.
Thank you with the people who suggest this initiative
Hoping to received feedbacks (and sure answers)

Ok, this is a proposal, let me know if it could work.
What about Wednesday 25th at 18.00 UTC?
Is good enough ?

Hi,
in case that somebody wants me to attend the meeting, ... For me it's impossible to be there before 22 CET because of "business cases", family and "dog related" options :-( But I'm also sure that there are many, many, other persons who attend and will give their ideas for a successfully teamwork between the "groups" ..

Your presence is really important, I'm sure your Ambassadorial experience is something so precious.
The BIG problem is that it's necessary to find a time zone that could be ok both for EMEA and NA, so, I'm taking note of the people feedbacks and I'm sure during this week I should be able to give you a defined answer. BTW, your option is taken in consideration as well as the other.
Thank you

+1 (i.e. I should be able to attend, but as I'm looking for a new flat this could change rapidly)

This works for me as well.
What about Wednesday 25th at 18.00 UTC?
Is this happening today?
For whenever it does happen, here are some topics I think are worth discussing. Maybe it's better to have these discussions over email, so that we can have some threads with more substance than "active or inactive".
(1) Where is work being duplicated between teams? In the places where it is, is that duplication necessary, or redundant? IMHO, I think that most of the duplicated work is necessary due to geographical problems.
(2) What's the relationship with Red Hat like in both regions? Where can we get better support? What do you need that you aren't getting?
(3) Do people feel like they have enough resources? How do we deal with the challenge of having more events than we can possibly fund properly, and therefore having to prioritize some events over others, without hurting the feelings of individual event owners?
(4) What are the problems we are currently trying to solve in each region, and how are we going about doing it?
(5) Is FAMSCO giving you what you need?

It was a question after reviewing many possibility.
BTW, if people could be there today, I'll be there.
If not, I'll add in my agenda next Wednesday as meeting time and I'll send all the reminders. (see below, at the end of the email)
I'm sorry but the discussion we had in this list took most of my time and I didn't notice we were near to this deadline (wed 25th).
Don't worry, if it couldn't be today, it would be the next week :)

I agree completely with you.
I think it should be a good start to have this question answered by people.

So, if you agree with me, we should postpone the meeting next week after all of those questions will be reviewed/thought.
Is this ok?
Thank you Max for these good points.

Well, let's put it this way.
I will be hanging out in #fedora-ambassadors at 18:00 UTC (a little over 2 hours from right now).
I'll be happy to talk to anyone else who shows up about anything they like :)

I replied before I read this part of your email, but I think it will be interesting to see what various people think about these topics over the next few days.
