Hi,
Just as I was checking these[1][2].
These pages are highly outdated. Many does not even exsists anymore. This is high time we need to think of a sustainable way to keep these lists updated. Ideas?
Also there is no contact data or contact person for LocalVendor page. Does anyone have this data?
Thanks.

What about adapting mirror manager to work for this? You could setup a process to verify new vendors then when added to the list they are required to do some kind of update once a release cycle. The modified mirror manager could then scan the sites in the list and check for modified times.
You do not have to use the mirror manager example but a simple php scrip (simple for someone versed in php) could check the sites and update the list according to dead links or not.

This sounds like a fun idea, but in practice it would likely only decrease the pool of vendors. No one wants to jump through hoops to do something they see as giving us a freebie.
Having the lists broken down and manually checked by region, if not a perfect solution, at least spreads the load in a way that makes periodic updates easier.x

But is any contact info of those vendors available with anyone? If yes, we can call them up. It must have been collected but may be lost by now. Checking online vendor is easier though. Thanks.
