Hi guys,
I have something in mind here. I want to create a repository in Brazil only with packages created here in Portuguese_BR.
The main idea is to have a centralized webpage with information and softwares created in Brazil for Fedora Users (always .rpm files) for home users and companies. This way companies can find softwares needed for them to be used at home and in companies.
In this last event we heard a lot of complaning because the users didn't find solutions to implement in their companies. With this webpage we can recruit developers do create softwares for companies and for home users and distribute them as GPL.
I want to call it Fedora-Extras-BR, it this ok?
What do you think about it?
Thanks in advance,
Rodrigo Menezes

Without using the official FE buildsystem/infrastructure, I'd say this would be dubious at best.
What do you think about it?
Why not just *use* the existing Fedora Extras?

Probably not the right list :) And any particular reason you choose to ignore the Fedora Extras that is already in place ?

No,
The idea is a repository for softwares, not an oficial one.
What we need is software made for small companies, like biling systems for a Drug Store or something like that.
Something more like SourceForge.net but with only with pt_BR packages.

The most important criterion will be this:
Are ALL the packages simply translations of the Fedora Extras Packages?
of course, I'm no the expert

Rodrigo, Please join Fedora Extras list and discuss your proposal in that list. http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-extras-list Regards, -- Thomas Chung http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/ThomasChung

I still don't see much argument for not using Fedora Extras... unless this stuff doesn't follow FE guidelines/rules (because of patents or nonfree licensing), but, if that's the case, then you likely shouldn't use the name "Fedora" at all.
