I'd like to clarify some things for SCaLE, which is in three weeks from now.
It looks like Fedora Ambassadors are planning to represent Fedora at SCaLE based on: https://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale/17x/sponsor/fedora https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SCaLE_17X_Event
However, funding and event materials are still TBD: https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/82 https://pagure.io/ambassadors-na/tasks/issue/200
Further, Alex Acosta is listed, but requires funding for a flight, so at what point will it be too late to accommodate his travel?
Lastly, there is some confusion in that it seems juggler was the initial owner and it changed to paradoxguitarist at some point, but https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/82 hasn't been touched in about a month.
Would it be helpful to have an IRC meeting this evening so we can get all parties in communication - juggler, paradoxguitarist, myself, aacosta/douglax, nb, herlo, and bex? 5pm Pacific/8pm eastern?

I'm available at that time, fwiw, and am interested. At SCALE I'll be representing CentOS Project from the Red Hat booth, and it may be helpful for me to be at the least aware of Fedora's plans.
Best,
- Karsten
I can't attend a meeting tonight, but I will be at SCaLE as an attendee. I'm happy to help out with booth duties as I'm able.
Have we requested an event badge yet?
I can't speak for why Mindshare hasn't acted on this yet, but looking at the proposal, it might help to add some more specifics. Are there specific technical or project things that we can share in the booth? (e.g. any experts on modularity, Silverblue, etc?) For folks who aren't familiar with SCaLE, the proposal should include more information about who the attendees are and what we as a project can get from being there apart from a general "talk about Fedora".
Ben,
This are reasonable questions. I haven't seen any recent communication or update from juggler, so perhaps paradoxguitarist may be able to take this over, since he's listed as the event owner?
Scott
I spoke with paradoxguitarist on the phone. I was able to verify that we are confirmed for a free booth at SCaLE for Fedora. We do not need funding for the "SCaLE passes" line item. We would still like douglax to be funded so we can have a native Spanish speaker, but fear it may be too late for him to get a visa. Without douglax, it doesn't make sense to request money for a hotel room, since we're all relatively local.
Paradoxguitarist also said he connected with juggler yesterday. I suggested that they update the mindshare ticket as a next step.
At this point, I'm not sure an IRC meeting would be helpful as long as juggler and/or paradoxguitarist update the mindshare ticket.

I won't be at the meeting tonight, but we can arrange to have a room for Alex if needed. He can even crash with me if necessary.
Let me know if you need anything else. I'm running the installfest and training again this year (on Saturday and Sunday) and come in early on Thursday morning. I'll try to come visit you guys sometime during the weekend.
Cheers,
herlo
