It's a really big pity. EMEA did organizing FAD for budget planning well for a few years and I personally think it would be continued.
Following up this discussion, I just thought people just discussing about dropping some *unnecessary* activities to get the event more focused on the main goals and to save some money as well, NOT about stopping the whole event.
In short, EMEA should take any small opportunities to hold that FAD annually.
We are also trying to keep it here in APAC.
Rgds, Tuan
Unfortunately, it was not only some "unnecessary" activities but in general and the requested money was maybe not readed proper to understand. It's a pity, as you said; but the annual FAD can't be organized in that short time as it was the last weekend of November or the first weekend of December. Also it's now more or less impossible to get 20 cheap flights for any location :-( So: NO numbers out of the FAD EMEA, if there are numbers needed, we mzust find a more painfull way and time to collect, combine and share them.

Hi Zoltan,
as u know and were part more than once at FAD Rheinfelden; do you really think, you can make this meeting and collecting numbers (of more or less a complete weekend) in maybe a 2 h online IRC meeting? Personally I don't belive [otherwise a FAD must be obsolete in general in the future]. If you have those 14 Nations (as we were at the last FAD) in a IRC meeting, maybe you'll get the numbers, maybe not. But it is worth to try, for sure.
I have no idea what the consequences will be for EMEA next year, because we don't meet this year. But nevertheless other areas also "live" and get money from our big sponsor.
