Hi folks, I was reading Mel's blog post about the F13 press kit [1] and when Mel asked for some help with the layout I had an idea. Rather than spend the time to just do it, I thought it'd be better to document what needed to be done, how to do it, and post it to try to encourage a new design contributor. So I got the idea for doing a regular series of blog posts - maybe we can pick the next task at our next meeting from our ticket queue. Quick & easy tasks that get new designers familiar with our tools (FAS, wiki, IRC, mailing list, posting sources) I think are good candidates. Design team IRC meetings?

Hi folks, I know in the past we've talked about having regular meetings before but timezones have been a bit of an issue. I was wondering if we could revisit this and consider weekly or bi-weekly meetings? We could simply check in with each other, talk about what projects we've been working on, and maybe go through open ticket items in our trac queue [1]. What do you think? I started a time slot grid at whenisgood.net - would you mind checking off the times you could make? If you set the local time dropdown at the top center of the page it should automagically readjust everything to your local time: http://whenisgood.net/fedoradesign If we can't find enough times for everybody to meet, maybe we could alternate meeting times so everyone can at least come to one? It wouldn't be a requirement for everyone to come to the meetings, but I think it would be good to have set times we chat together in IRC. Over the past few weeks we've been having some good discussions in #fedora-design but it's been ad-hoc - I'd love to see it become a more regular thing. What do you think? ~m
