Hi,
For F17 we had no supplemental wallpapers, because noone wrangled them. I
will do that for F18 and will announce it on monday.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F18_Artwork/Submissions/Supplemental_Wallpap…
According to the schedule from Jaroslav
http://jreznik.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-18/f-18-design-tasks.html
the submission period should be already started and end on 30th of August.
But I think its also doable until 5th of September, I have spoken with
Jaroslav about that.
I have also spoken with Martin, he will package the wallpapers when we have
them selected.

I agree with Roobert, this is awesome Daniel, thanks!
Not sure if we can use it (it probably needs a Legals review) but I am
CCing the design team that could find it useful also.
Cheers,

Hi designers
So i found time yesterday to explore the Nebula/Osmo concept from our
hackfest after addressing some backlogs of paperwork. Its interesting
what can emerge from 12hours of experimentation.
First off, I decided to base my variation on a subtle joke. After all
its 'Spherical Cow'. Ever seen one of those? So what if all that
represents the cow is the udders (hehehehe)???. I know, some weird
imaginations and iterating on that could get messy depending on your
state of mind. Just take it like you see it ... I borrowed from the
common cartoon idea of cows being cowbows and the udders being the
machine guns. These cows (udders) are floating in space shooting at
each other ... the vacuum is populated by sprays of bullets (you know
what now :-) ).
The sketch of this concept, here:
http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/5991/floatingudders.png
The results:
http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/433/floatingudders01.pnghttp://img694.imageshack.us/img694/2155/floatingudders4fsop.pnghttp://img442.imageshack.us/img442/6254/floatingudders8fstopbol.png
So you're all welcome to blast this work with critiques. I've got the
blend file here for anyone who cares to play around. I'm not quite
satisfied with the background yet. I'll be nice to get a vignette
effect or a variation of blue tones ... something with more depth. I
hope to figure that out soon.

Hi all,
you might have noticed -- F18 wallpaper was finally set as default (in
F18) so I made a blog post [1] and already have a rather good feedback.
To summarize for those who do not want to go through all the comments:
* Best fedora wallpaper since at least the Solar one (I'm inclined to
think so too ;-) ).
* A little bug in the bottom right corner -- "darker vertical overlay
117px wide at the right side of the wide wallpaper".
* There is (at least) one person interested in tutorial/pointers on how
to make such wallpaper -- is there anyone who'd like to write it?
I'll continue to monitor the comments and post a summary in this thread
again if anything new appears. :)
Cheers,
Martin

Hi,
Want to win a cool Fedora Tshirt and other swags , participate in Fedora Video Contest . The contest is starting today (5th September 2012) and will remain open for 1 month (5th October 2012).
The contest is really simple: we want you to make us a video. Rather, we want you to make a intro/outro template that we can use for the Fedora Videos project.
How To Participate ?
Make a intro + outro template that a video can be prefixed/suffixed with
Shine it up, real nice. Add some barbecue sauce maybe?
Put it up somewhere: dropbox/archive.org/...
Email us and let us know!
Wait.. wait.. wait.. to find out if you won yourself goodies and Fedora tshirt!
Now, since we're going to use your template for quite a few videos, all of the fedora videos project actually, we request you to license your material accordingly: please use CC by SA.
What is Fedora Videos Project, We have lots of community videos strewn around the interwebs. Some on Youtube, others on Vimeo, others are just hosted some place. They aren't really well organized, and so, it's difficult to find them when you need them. What we're trying to do is to take all these, add proper titles, subtitles, translations, licenses and place them at one location(archive.org) so that everyone can find and use them. That's where the contest comes in. We want a good intro/outro template that we can easily modify and use for the videos that we put up. Makes sense now, doesn't it?. If you want to eat some hot dogs with us while making community videos, come right in (link to mailing list mktg)!
For other details regarding the Fedora Video Contest visit the wiki page [1] . If you still have questions feel free to ask any of the video team members [2] .
So let the game begin , and lets give a hard time to our judges by lots of awesome participation .

Hi all!
This is my first post to the list! I've been working with Jorn Lomax as
part of the Google Summer of Code project the Fedora audio spin. I
believe Jorn introduced himself here [1].
We've come a long way now and have decided on using KDE as the base
system for the Fedora Jam audio spin.
We are probably going to use a darker KDE theme by default (such as
Oxygen or Caledonia) and are desperately in need of some KDE splash and
wallpaper ideas that will fit with this.
Whilst we don't have any firm suggestions in mind it would be great of
we could somehow create a theme which can somehow encompass more than a
few of the many aspects surrounding music and audio production - e.g.
classical, modern, electronic, live, recording etc. Some have suggested
and elegant collage of instruments and/or recording gear, but we are
really very open for all kinds of ideas [2]. It may not even need to
relate to audio at all but just look really cool and modern! I think
this is a really creative opportunity here if any is interested!.
We have created a placeholder package (fedora-jam-backgrounds) already
which contains a simple audio waveform on a black background, which will
be replaced [3].
Once a spin is approved via the Spins wrangler what is the submission
process so far as the design team is concerned?
thanks for your help!

Hi all!
The Italian Linux Day[1] is coming on (October 27th).
In Milan will take place a big event[2] and we are organizing a FAD
with talks, booths and practical sessions about translations and
packaging.
The FAD will take place on Saturday afternoon at the "Politecnico di Milano"[3].
There will be speeches focused on the Project and, in parallel, two
practical sessions about translations and packaging.
All the other informations about the event are here[4]
For the event we need of some Italian artworks for:
*FAD's flyers
*FAD's logo
*FAD's web banner
*Fedora live USB station [5]
I have open the ticket #239 for the artworks.[6]
Have a nice day and happy hacking!
