Hi,
Luya can we include https://github.com/juanfran/svgo-inkscape into the Design Suite, what the plugin basically does is optimizing the svg for the use in the browser,so removing comments, meta data, hidden elements and so on. SVG becomes a bit more interesting for the web now

I'm a little concerned by
"SVGO is a very active plugin in continuous development." contrasted with Latest commit e76e646 on Aug 14, 2015". But I guess it got good enough. :)

It turned out truthful as the actual library is on https://github.com/svg/svgo
Hi,
Why I didnt see this message?
Matt you are welcome to work on any SVG scrubber you like, I dont want to use scour and thats the only one we have right now. You can package svgcleaner eg ;)

Hi,
Thanks Luya, btw I remember we included once svgcleaner but seems nobody packages it anymore. It might be besser82 packages it in a few days, this tool was more handy then svgo.

Hi,
I had last night the time to check some things in Inkscape and with cleaning the code. The development of svgo stopped as the Inkscape "save as" optimized svg has now better results. I
I used Mo's grey scaled pattern from
https://github.com/fedoradesign/nextweb-assets
for the test. I brought it down to 612KB from originally 1.9MB
so the only win using svgo would be to have a shortcut in the menu, as the "optimized svg" is a lot of scrolling in the save as dialog.

I just learned nodejs-svgo package was missing as part of component for svgo-inkscape. I recently built it so you will need to install both. See https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/luya/svgo/packages/

Digging further. I found svgo is already available as rust-svgo so it is possible to install it to effectively use the command. svgo-inkscape just needs to redirect the correct path of binary yet somehow the patch failed for some odd reasons.
I took a look at svgcleaner which I currently work on packaging it but it needs more dependencies not available in the repository. It might take a while.
