Hi
if we want to use a Spherical Cox wallpaper as the basis for a Spin wallpaper, what is the correct way to attribute the original authors? (file:///usr/share/backgrounds/spherical-cow/default/standard/spherical-cow.png )
Similarly, we may base a desktop KDE theme on a previous one, a KSplash theme using some standard KDE / Fedora icons
thanks
Brendan

Your link points to a non-existent file because it assumes the root is domiciled on our local machines.

I guess this is just a typo, but to be sure -- it's Spherical Cow ;-)

Thanks, but do I need to state that it is a work derived from another, and separate the authors list accordingly?

The license is here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/legalcode
Some relevant sections are 3b, which says that you need to take reasonable steps to clearly identify that you have modified the original work, and 4c, which covers how to handle attribution. (Which is "in any reasonable manner", with some stipulations.)

Thanks! So as long as I credit the original work and its authors in the Attribution file of the package I'll be OK.

And provide a link to the license and a few other things. But basically, yes.
