Hello,
I was trying to build an update for Fedora 17 that uses maven. It seems that all the packages I have built for Fedora 17 for that particular app have fallen between these two sequential changelog entries of maven:
* Wed Feb 06 2013 Mikolaj Izdebski mizdebsk@redhat.com - 3.0.4-14.2 - Remove maven-local provides
* Tue Jan 22 2013 Mikolaj Izdebski mizdebsk@redhat.com - 3.0.4-14.1 - Provide maven-local
Now I'm not able to push an update anymore, and actually even old releases do not build succesfully in Fedora 17.
How can I adjust the spec file to remove maven-local?
SPEC files here:
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/guacamole.git/plain/guacamole.spec?h=f17 http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/guacamole-common.git/plain/guacamole-comm... http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/guacamole-ext.git/plain/guacamole-ext.spe...
Thanks, --Simone

Hi Simone,
If you change (Build)Requires on maven-local to maven, does that help? As far as I understand, maven-local is for F19+.
Gerard.

That is the normal maven that fetches requirements from the web. From my memories it was maven-rpmbuild or something like that.
btw maven-local is a subpackage of javapackages-tools from f18; so only f17 needs fixing:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=13314
Maybe I should wait and leave the f17 package behind considering that is going EOL in july?

The package is maven, it provides /usr/bin/mvn-rpmbuild: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/fileinfo?rpmID=3904415&filename=/usr/...

That's another option. I think it's pretty normal to only provide bugfixes to older releases like f17. I may be wrong, someone please correct me if I am! It's sometimes not worth it (or even possible) to update the older releases with new versions of packages, since you may not have all the same latest dependencies as you do in current/devel releases.
Hope this helps! Gerard.
