Hi:
I've just discovered svnkit is a dead package at rawhide. Being a dependency for OmegaT 2.6.* I wonder about the reasons to be deprecated. Anybody can give me any hint?
I've been the maintainer of svnkit for years but upstream started to use gradle which is the most broken by design buildsystem when one considers packagers needs - download everything (including gradle itself!!!), no standard way of doing anything and so on. I kept an old svnkit version alive for sometime but I gave up when even the old version can't be compiled due to incompatibility with latest subversion-javahl. I can't convince myself that it makes sense to neither work on old svnkit to compile with latest subversion-javahl nor touching anything gradle related. Best approach for me is someone interested to rewrite svnkit buildsystem using something normal(ant, maven, pure make, even autotools).

hum, how complex do you think it could be, from trivial to nightmare (using ant or make)?
Depends on what you want just svnkit and svnkit-cli from http://svn.svnkit.com/repos/svnkit/tags/1.7.5.v1/ should be trivial. svnkit-osgi might be a bit more difficult.

I'll try the trivial parts :-)

Ok, here they are: http://olea.org/tmp/omegat-fedora-feature/
As you can check I needed to update sqljet too, which suffers the same gradle pains, and has to package sequence which is not included into svnkit anymore.
Packages are not 100% finished (hopefully will need just some rpmlint love) and I feel insecure about the ant building I made so if someone familiarized with this tools can review them would be useful.
I guess sequence-library should pass the new package process without matter of having been included into svnkit till now.
ps: Being informative, I'm planing to propose a Fedora 19 feature «OmegaT suite» including this works and three other plugins to be packaged, all of them java based.
Cool, as long as they work for you - they are good, if someone finds something he needs to open a bug :). And yes sequence has to go through review.

Or patch OmegaT to use subversion-javahl instead, I wonder if that would be easier.

Since sequence-library, a new dep for updated svnkit, is now accepted I need to ask you if you are interested in maintain svnkit again. As promised I've made the update without the gradle damnware[1]. How do you see it?

Hi Ismael,
My interest in svnkit was only for subclipse and I'm not sure whether this version will have all the OSGi stuff in. Additionally I don't have the time to maintain it so please do it yourself. I'll be happy to stay co-maintainer in case I find the time to do what/if needed to make usable for subclipse again.

I'll accept to maintain it if you co-maintain, at least as a backup, both svnkit and sequence-library, deal? :-)
Sincerelly I'll don't expect almost not other activity on sequence-library other than fixing some bug related with svnkit.
Fine by me :) ----- Original Message -----

Fine by me, I even requested commit on sequence-library. Have you submitted svnkit for review? I think we have to go through the procedure again.

I've been waiting until sequence-library and the sqljet patch got accepted
