Why doesn't mvn-build accept -D options?

System properties are opaque to mvn-build and that's why -D is not recognized -- it's specific to Maven.
You can still pass it to Maven as mvn-build passes all non-option arguments to Maven:
mvn-build -- -Dkey=value

Thanks. Could this be added to the packaging guidelines?
