The Fedora ambassadors were contacted recently by the organizers of MAGNet Con 2011 to find out if Fedora would like to participate in this event in St. Louis, Missouri. It looks very promising to me as a first effort in the heart of North America. Early details can be found on their website at http://magnetcon.info/ Fedora has at least one contributor I know of in St. Louis currently although it is too early for his commitment to this event, so I would like to ask other ambassadors from nearby if they would be interested in helping to organize a Fedora presence and to represent the Fedora Project in St. Louis this May. Event reports

Hello there! I would like to kindly remind and invite all ambassadors to post events reports on our Events wiki page [1]. I'm reinforcing the importance of events reports because when I'm creating the FAmSCo reports I see that many events lack their own reports. Event reports are important for our community because contributors might find interesting ideas, common interests, common difficulties and are also a way to tell everybody what was accomplished. For contributors who weren't able to attend an event without a report is like it has never happened. The report is part of sharing our knowledge. On the other hand there are events with a lot of good reports on our Planet and sometimes is hard to pick just one. For events like FUDCon Tempe and FOSDEM I would like to include an "official" report from the event owners (or someone else) on FAmSCo report. Probably there are already some reports we can use for both. Hello friends, I just wanted to know about your opinion, if we should consider replacing the current 4 CDs of Desktop spins media production with the 1 DVD which contains all 4 spins? Maybe even with F14 ? SXSW Planning

I have read a whole lot of event planning pages on the wiki over the past several years and I'm completely blown away by this one. Everyone please take some time to read it. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SXSW_2011 Wow. Fresh eyes, new ideas, unbridled enthusiasm. This is so great to see. Máirín, Emily, and gang are going to blow the socks off of Austin and are also going to inspire other event planners to try new things at old events! Are we all set to get an event box to Austin for SXSW? Does it need extra stock swag? I'm guessing at this event as much as we can provide will be eagerly consumed. I still have a few "special" shirts that I'd be happy send to Austin. John
