Hi Guys
This is another idea I'm workin' on.
4 Horses of 4 F Theme
I think about horses 'cause in roman time they were so diffused and not only a transport, but as a sign of power for the nobilities. Like a lot of leader statues riding an horse in many squares.

The result is this (1600x1200 px) : http://catalinfest.xhost.ro/imgin/screen4.png Maybe is to bluejeans :) but is a ergonomic wallpaper.

This is correct !
I try use some wallpapers with icons and the result is not very impressive. I show my wallpaper screenshot (the others maybe try some feedback ...) :
http://catalinfest.xhost.ro/imgin/screen1.png http://catalinfest.xhost.ro/imgin/screen2.png http://catalinfest.xhost.ro/imgin/screen3.png
FWIW, desktop icons seem to have a somewhat difficult time standing out on any of these backgrounds, and the desktop icon labels even more so. The darkness of the screen1 version makes this problem less severe. The screen2 version, with a less dense pattern, might work better if it was made darker. Same with screen3, only you might want to lower the contrast as well.

Hi folks!
I made another proposal [1] to follow the line of wallpaper Samuele and changing the tone of color. The concept is simply a composition of images of the statue of Constantine I [2] in York, England, a texture of concrete and pieces of lithographs for Gustave Doré (of whom I admire a lot), the concept is more than obvious that the image of Constantine is explicit .

The gold (yellow) is good looking, even if probably not the best for a default (i noticed you have a small hint of blue on the top-left corner), but having a statue of Constantine is too direct, no room left for any metaphor.

My proposal is to break the blue absolute and that this version does not have some more colors (I think Samuele also think so). The only potential problems I have with the use of horses as a main theme is pictures and ideas of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I think that's going go dominate peoples minds when they see horses. It'd take a lot of work to make them think of Constantine times as well because horses have been used all over the world for a long time.

Not that you mention this, I like the 4 horses idea even more :p I can see us playing it (over the top) in our favour: "we are like the Apocalypse for the obsolete proprietary model" :D

I think if we look at all the possibilities of interpretation, both find things dark, funny (as Nicu said), political, religious and so on. The concept is explained by Samuele. When we develop a visual id can have or do not express a concept or that concept may be hidden in a metaphor, so much depends on designer if he wants to have a clear idea or a subjectivity and when working with the second option gives banks to many interpretations, as well as you thought.

I like this one the most, I pushed the blue to a darker fedora blue and I got this [1]. It only uses two colours which makes the icons stand out, and is not too busy to distract from windows. The waves are in common with Leonidas, not sure if that is a good thing or not.
I made one more proposal with more blue (even prefer the yellow, my proposal is to break the color default) for Constantine: http://jaymeayres.fedorapeople.org/f12/fedora-wall-jayme-VII.jpg
