I'd like to spend the rest of our non firm change window to try to get app5 in order. If I'm unable I'd like to revert it to the x86_64 image (still on the box) until after the release. -Mike

I'd like to get another test server up in the new datacenter for Frank et all to work on the wordpress deployment. This should have _no_ affect on anything but its a change in the freeze. Rules are rules :) -Mike

Change: Disable koji garbage collection scripts that touch the filesystem

This was discussed on IRC, we're disabling the garbage collection scripts which we think are causing the filesystem to remount ro. The delete part of koji-gc, the koji-prunesigs, and the koji-directory-cleanup have all been disabled in puppet. -- Jesse Keating Fedora -- All my bits are free, are yours?

xen and tcp checksumming

We continue to have sporatic tcp checksum issues in xen (known issue in xen, I think its even in their FAQ) I'd like to disable the hardware checksumming: ethtool -K eth0 tx off in rc.local. Its not actively causing issues but it is causing inefficient transfers in some cases. I'd like to do this before the freeze. Anyone have any problems with that? -Mike

change request (/mnt/koji fs issues)

So we're in a bit of trouble. Right now the ext3 filesystem on /mnt/koji is in a sort of funky state. There's a section of the filesystem that is pretty borked. Running fsck.ext3 on it causes a segfault. The core dump is 2G right now. This is likely from the short few hours we ran /mnt/koji from a RHEL4 box (lesson learned there...) Steps to proceed: 1) Snapshots - I've been doing all of my tests from snapshots and will continue to do so. The share itself doesn't seem to be catastrophically broken, just that one section. 2) Contact some fs experts with the dump and see what is going on. 3) Fix the filesystem. 4) Also, for the last 4 nights at around 3 am my time the filesystem has hit this part of the disk causing it to get remounted ro. I'd like to setup a script to auto correct this issue until we can come up with a permanent fix. Just saves me from having to get up in the middle of the night. Is anyone against this? I'm mostly worried about step3 then anything. Before we do that I want to make sure we have a proper backup and do plenty of tests from snapshots. It might be best to do 3) after the release. -Mike

python-fedora upgrade

Since the release is delayed and we're letting more changes through, I'd like to update to the new python-fedora, 0.2.99.9 that reverts the incompatible changes from 0.2.99.8. I'd like to push this package to all the app servers and fas1 & 2 so that all the major TurboGears apps are on the same version. (We could push to bodhi on releng1 as well if Luke is okay with that.) -Toshio

Rawhide builds (change)

Sorry guys, this one didn't take place on the list I talked to Jesse about it in #fedora-admin. I moved the rawhide build script to about 4 hours earlier. I think its triggering the nfslock outages (and the alerts that follow it) at around 3:30 my time. I figure moving it 4 hours later is nice because when it happens I'll have a better chance of catching steved and a better chance of being alert :) -Mike

Change freeze request: add error pages to domains that don't have them

This was a change started before the freeze that Ricky and I worked on. http://www.fedoraproject.org/wronglink will give a nice custom 404 page, while other domains (such as start.fedoraproject.org) don't, just giving the default apache one (http://start.fedoraproject.org/wronglink). Ricky and I setup a /e/ directory that contains the multi language error pages, so that you can go to /e/404 and get the right 404 page in the right language. For the other domains that do not have a 404 error page configured, I'll add a 404.conf file to the apache conifg, alias /e/ to the same one as fp.o, and then set the error page for that domain to be /e/404. That would give the default fedora 404 page, and allow for MultiView to work so it will be in the right language. The same will be done for 500. mmcgrath and I have been talking about this over the last week and a half - since the change freeze is extended abit more, I'd like to wrap this up and have it in place. Thoughts?
