Hi
First of all I must say that I did introduce me for the fedora-join mailing list and could get an idea about fedora contribution areas.
Anyways as a brief introduction to me, I am a computer engineering undergraduate at university of Peradeniya, Srilanka. I am a linux user for quite long time now and really into open source. So I look forward to contribute to fedora infrastructure, and would like to know in which ways I can contribute.
Thank you
Regards *Asanka *

Excellent. Are you more interested in the sysadmin side of things? Or application development?
Do introduce yourself on irc in #fedora-admin or at our weekly meetings and we will point you in the right direction.

I am interested in this - what feeds the status to the website? Is it all manual or done through monitoring?
status.fp.o is updated manually, typically after admins are notified of an issue via monitoring (ie nagios...) or via monitoring of the meatier type.
Cheers

Yep. :)
It's running on an openshift instance. See http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/fedora-status.git for all the source, etc.
We wanted it deliberately to be:
- separate from the rest of our infrastructure. - simple/static
