Hi, I'm trying to get Fedora 12 working on the SheevaPlug and I'm having a fair number of problems. After several hours of trial and error and different u-boot images, I'm now pretty convinced that ext2ls doesn't actually properly understand the ext2 file system. Creating the ext2 FS on the SD card with non-standard parameters (e.g. different block size and/or -E stride/stripe-width/resize parameters seems to confuse it quite badly. It starts to list files for specified directories that are most definitely not in the directory specified. The boot loader also seems to have issues finding the kernel image. I finally got it to the point where it almost boots, but then the screen fills up with garbage and the only cure is a hard-reset. I have created the ext2 fs on an SD card, and put the uimage under /boot on it. uboot-tools

Is there a particular reason why uboot-tools package isn't available in the F12 armv5tel repository? I just built it from the F12 src.rpm and it seems to work fine (just booted the kernel I made with it). Is this just a distro maintenance oversight or is there a specific reason why it's not included? Gordan

cpuspeed and power management on ARM

Hi, Can somebody point me in the direction of any documentation on how the CPU power management works on the ARM from the clock speed throttling when idle point of view? I notice there is no cpuspeed package available. On x86 there is acpi-cpufreq and the different governors (ondemand, conservative). Is there something equivalent available on the ARM? Gordan

I did a scratch build of directfb for arm against dist-f13: $ arm-koji build --scratch dist-f13 directfb-1.4.3-1.fc14.src.rpm But it failed: https://arm.koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=46919&name=build.log I found similar error here too ( for debian ): http://osdir.com/ml/debian-bugs-dist/2010-10/msg00715.html ( https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=directfb&suite=experimental ) As it ends some header were missing in gfxdrivers/davinci/ inside tar archive: davinci_gfxdriver.h davinci_c64x.h davincifb.h davinci_c64x.c - added #include <sys/stat.h> I fixed it and rescheduled for a scratch build against dist-f13: https://arm.koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/getfile?taskID=46927&name=build.log Then there were these errors: RPM build errors: error: Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found: /usr/bin/c64xdump /usr/lib/libdavinci_c64x.so /usr/lib/libdavinci_c64x.so.0 /usr/lib/libdavinci_c64x.so.0.0.0 Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found: /usr/bin/c64xdump /usr/lib/libdavinci_c64x.so /usr/lib/libdavinci_c64x.so.0 /usr/lib/libdavinci_c64x.so.0.0.0 Child returncode was: 1 EXCEPTION: Command failed. rfsbuild Fedora 12 doesn't have a repomod.xml

I tried to create rootfs using rfsbuild for Fedora 12, and it gives error: $ sudo rfsbuild --repo=c12,http://ftp.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/arm/fedora/pub/fedora/linux/releases/12/Everything/arm/os/ --repo=c6u,http://ftp.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/arm/fedora/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/6/arm --repo=c6e,http://ftp.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/arm/fedora/pub/fedora/linux/extras/6/arm --package=bash --package=nfs-utils --rfspath=./rootfs-f12/ --initrd=0 --verbosity=2 ./startQEMU Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: rfsb_c12. rfsbuild doesn't work on F14 - rfsbuild SRPM is needed to fix

Whe I invoke rfsbuild like this, it gives error: $ rfsbuild --repo=c12,http://ftp.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/arm/fedora/pub/fedora/linux/releases/12/Everything/arm/os/ --package=bash --package=nfs-utils ./startQEMU -f=/tmp/rootfs-f12/ --initrd=0 --verbosity=2 RFS path doesn't exist: The error itself is incorrect: RFS path doesn't exist: The error message should instead read: RFS path doesn't exist: /tmp/rootfs-f12/ I want to properly fix this. Where can I locate SRPM package for rfsbuild? /tuxdna
