Noob here.
Arndale and Arndale Octa are quite different, are they not? I just got one, but it looks like they don't come with a pre-compiled binary kernel, you have to build one. There are instructions on their wiki.

Yes, I missed it before. I have 5250.
IIRC, Octa has merged into mainline since 3.13(I got news before said 3.14 is the deadline but they were faster):

You need to build a kernel first, then try to do anything you want. Current f20 ships 3.12 kernel.
I haven't tried building it under this board(I don't have Octa), but it seems that it's doable.

Current f20 actually has the 3.13.5 kernel but we don't currently support any form of exynos device because they don't currently support the unified multi platform kernels we ship so you still need a soc specific kernel.

Yes,Arndale and Arndale Octa is very different ,the SOC of Arndale board is Exynos 5250(double Cortex-A15),and Arndale Octa 5420 is Exynos Octa 5420(big.Little),and they have many difference in hardware,so if we want to flash an available system image, must change some source. And what's important is how to do it??
