Hi there!
I came across an X.org driver for OMAP [0] and as packaged [1] this driver to prepare for my own testing. Building works fine, but I have no possibility to test this driver at the moment as I do not have a monitor to connect to my BeagleBoard.
If there is interest from others, I'll put this package up for review and inclusion in a future release. Any feedback or test-results much appreciated!
Thanks, Niels

Coincidentally, I just built this package (from tarball) this morning, and haven't got around to testing it yet.
I'll give your package a go and see whether (a) it works, and (b) it's faster than fbdev.
Thanks, Matthew

There seems to be a Review Request already for xorg-x11-drv-omapfb: - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=645857
This was filed in October last year already :-) I guess you can better test that package, than mine.
Cheers, Niels
