konsole memory usage. and not only

I had already mentioned (twice) that my konsole eat to much memory (16Gb? not a limit!). And finally I found out that the reason is in konsole AND mplayer. Somehow the output produced by mplayer caused kosole eat more and more memory. May be that is a long-long-very-long strings produced during playing, with typing info, then ^W it, and again and again. But that still ALL remains in buffer. Here two cases. 1. How could I flush the buffer? Close tab is not a case as it not trigger flushing. I don't know why but it doesn't. And I don't whant to close FULL konsole (what have to for now). I tried to scroll them with new strings above the buffer's limit but that didn't help. 2. How could I make new konsole thread? Every new konsole window is a window of existing process. I what a brand new one. Is it possible somehow? Regards, Dmitrij S. Kryzhevich

Power management settings are being ignored

Hi, Time to time power management settings are ignored. System wouldn't suspend or hibernate on appropriate occasions. Suspend or hibernate works fine either via menu item or systemctl commands. The battery icon also goes wonky. It will show you that battery state is charging whereas if you expand the widget you could clearly see that its discharging. I have filed a bug but I have no reliable way to reproduce it or what kind of data should I collect when the problem occurs. What should I add to the bug report to get this issue fixed? packages to be retired

It looks like 1 of my packages is being affected: kdiff3 (maintained by: nbecker) kdiff3-0.9.98-7.fc24.i686 requires oxygen-icon-theme = 1:5.20.0-1.fc24 I'm sure we don't want kdiff3 to be retired. It appears many packages require oxygen-icon-theme, which would be retired due to (something in) it's chain of deps. Any plan to deal with this?

kate and file permissions

Trouble with file associations

Hi, I am unable to change the file associations within system settings. I have this problem running F24 and I had this problem before while on F23. My wife that is using F23 still has the problem. Case in point, pdf is associated with Inkscape and I would like to change to okular. If I use system settings -> Applications->File Associations and change there the preference order as soon as I press Apply the choice is reverted. Is this problem known? Is there a workaround? In a related not sometimes I have duplicated entries there, specifically in the case of pdf the second and third entries are Okular. Again if I delete one of them as soon as I apply the change I get a deja vu, the change is reverted. Regards, -- José Abílio

breeze-gtk non-functional on f24 (gtk3-3.20.x)

FYI, See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1323182 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361066 In short, breeze-gtk seems incompatible/non-functional with f24's gtk-3.20.x. Until it's fixed, I'm of a mind of not shipping it *at all*, else we risk chances of users installing it and being confused and unhappy with the bad result. Any comments or objections to that plan? -- Rex

I've seen this message several times in the past week or two when trying to start an X program. Logging out and back in again seems to fix it, but what is causing it? This machine does usually stay on 24/7 (because of backups). What does the Suspend menu option actually do?

When I run "sudo pm-suspend" from the command line, the way the system restores is different from what happens when using the Suspend option on the launcher Leave menu. Firefox dropping out of full screen.

This is not unique to KDE but maybe there is a unique KDE solution.... I have a dual monitor setup. I would like to have the MLB.tv (baseball) player in Firefox to be displayed in full screen on one monitor while doing other things in the "main" screen. However when the mouse is moved and another window gains focus Firefox drops out of full screen. I'm not using F11 to get Firefox itself into full screen as this doesn't affect the size of the player window. I'm using the control within the player which is a flash video. -- In reality, some people should stick to running Windows and others should stay away from computers altogether.
