I always seems to have to fiddle around with it just to be able to see contact information. I've followed all the guide, all the services that I don't use are running: Nepomunuku, Sringi, etc. and when I want to see someone's telephone number, I double click on their name, and get the blank dialog. I already followed the published info for resolving this.
I can't be the only one using the KDE address book, yet I am not doing anything special with it. So what should my next move be?

Works for me, and has done for some time.

So how do I diagnose this problem? I'm not doing anything special with my address book.

Akonadi frequently shows my "Address Book" resource as "Loading address book (0%)"

You say you have followed every guide. Which addressbook did you set as your default?
