I noticed this AM that each time I rebooted my system I would be zombies from tracker. I created a bug here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1432599
I really didn't have a clue as to what it was for anyway, and apparently it is used by GNOME and not needed/used if you are running KDE - so I deleted it. If that was a wrong assumption on my part, please advise.
Which brings me to my question... does anyone have a list of stuff that is unneeded by KDE but installed by default by Fedora Workstation?
It's not a matter of filespace (or even processing power I suppose in most cases). What I'm concerned about is that if something has a bug and I start investigating and spinning my wheels and find that I don't use or even need the package in the first place - like tracker.

[harry@srv-rhsoft:~]$ rpm -qa | grep leave python3-dnf-plugins-extras-leaves-0.0.12-3.fc24.noarch python3-dnf-plugins-extras-show-leaves-0.0.12-3.fc24.noarch
dnf leaves
and with both installed after each removal you get a fresh list of now installed stuff without dependencies - combined with smart self built metapackages just defining requires of packages you have installed by intention you end in:
[root@srv-rhsoft:~]$ dnf leaves lounge-rhsoft-extras-24.0-1.fc24.20170218.rh.noarch [root@srv-rhsoft:~]$

You might also want to look at the clean_requirements_on_remove configuration option in /etc/dnf/dnf.conf.

Yup... thanks!
Adding on top of your concern...
I've been using Fedora as the distro of choice for my production machine since Fedora 21, ad KDE as my DE of choice. Whenever a new release is made available, I don't upgrade - instead, I back up all my personal content and deploy it as a brand new, fresh bare metal release. And in these occasions I make use of netinstall (don't download a full ISO file). With netinstall I select KDE as my desktop of choice and focus on KDE-related items only in the items selection window.
Does that prevent from installing other DE (e.g. Gnome) related stuff I'll never use?
Any comment would be welcome, thank you!

no it does not beause you need to cleanup your stuff every time
i upgraded yesterday the machine in front of me to F25 with DNF
[root@srv-rhsoft:~]$ dnf leaves lounge-rhsoft-extras-25.0-1.fc25.20170316.rh.noarch
and that stuff was removeable after - guess what amchine is cleaner, your fresh install or my well maintained with optimizings i would never do when i have to repeat them twice a year
the same for all our server installed with F9 and now on F24 Fedora is not Windows
